  1. Hi everyone, Just found out I got an interview in May. I didn’t even know they were still doing interviews. Does anyone know why the interviews are broken up into 2 parts? Thanks!
  2. Thanks! I think it was about 2 weeks or so! I actually don’t have mother baby experience. I’m an ICU nurse currently. I have always had a passion for Women’s Health and Pregnancy so I am very excited to start this new journey.
  3. Yea I did go with Georgetown just because of the clinical placement aspect. I was really worried about having to find my own clinical site so that’s why I decided to pay the premium and go to Georgetown. But so far it’s been good! I haven’t technically started the program yet but I already feel very supported. They give you a student success specialist, an academic advisor, and a clinical placement specialist who helps you find a preceptor! I hope you locate a preceptor soon! Fingers crossed for you!
  4. Sorry, I didn’t see this post until now. I decided on Georgetown because of the clinical placement aspect. So far I feel very supported and classes haven’t even started yet. They give you a student success counselor, an academic advisor, and a clinical placement specialist. So far I have no regrets! Very excited to start the program in May!! Good luck! Hope to see you in my classes!
  5. I definitely appreciate the transparency! I am a little stressed but it sounds like that would be the case with whatever school I picked when it comes to clinical... I hope it all works out! Thank you again for all of the info! It’s very much appreciated!
  6. Oh no! I don’t like to hear that California is difficult. I don’t have the ability to move around to different states unfortunately. Were you in the LA area when you lived here? The admission counselor I have been dealing with has been assuring me I shouldn’t have an issue but I hope that’s not them just leading me on.... I mean the whole reason I picked Georgetown and am willing to pay the higher price is for clinical placement help, so I hope it is worth the extra money....
  7. Wow! Thank you so much for all of the valuable information! It’s very much appreciated! Congrats on graduation, such an accomplishment! I am a little nervous about the clinical rotations. I have been reassured that my area shouldn’t be a problem because I live in the Los Angeles/Orange County area but it still makes me pretty nervous because I can’t pick up and leave to another state. Were you able to maintain a job during the program and if so how much were you able to work? I currently work full-time 12 hour shifts. I was told it’s possible to work up until the last semester than then you usually have to go per diem. Not sure if that’s accurate though....
  8. Does anyone have experience with Georgetown? I just accepted my admission there today. I was accepted to both Georgetown and Cincinnati and I picked Georgetown because they seem to have more clinical placement support. Wondering if anyone had heard anything about either of these programs? Thanks!
  9. I’m also debating between Georgetown and another school... the other school is university of Cincinnati. I am curious as to what you are finding out. My big thing is clinical placement, I just don’t want to run into any issues with finding a clinical site.
  10. Congrats! Unfortunately I haven’t found out much and still haven’t made a decision. I am leaning more towards Georgetown because of their involvement in your clinical placement. However, it is a lot more expensive so that’s the reason I haven’t fully decided. I have been told that they are both great programs which doesn’t make my decision any easier! LOL Have you heard anything about UC? I did watch an information session that UC had recorded on Youtube, the director was taking about their program. You might wanna check that out! I have also heard that Frontier is more community based. When do you have to decide by? I don’t have long to make my decision!
  11. Hi Everyone! I just got into both Cincinnati and Georgetown’s CNM programs and I’m trying to decide which program? Does anyone have any insight into either of these programs? Also, do you know if you can continue to work part-time while in clinical? I know Georgetown recommends you don’t work your last 2 semesters because you’re on call a lot. Any other helpful info you have about either program? Thanks in advance!
