I'm sorry to hear that you stiil have not received your letter. Yes my sister did receive her letter and about 6 other people I know. We were at Charity March 08 deciding on what Hospital to attend. Well I hope everything works out for you and maybe it wouldn't hurt if you'd go down to Charity to find out if your name was included in that out going mail. Sorry it took sooooooo long for me to get back with you but these online classes are a serious headache.

I received my letter and I must complete the process. Their pushing us to turn in accept/reject-the students from Jan has the option of beginning in April or Aug. The good thing about this for the both of you-the April's class is empty:) ! The students are refusing the April's class because they've heard that it is extremely accelerated. Now, I'm required to meet all these different guidelines-fingerprints, background check, nursing board authorization, etc Don't worry. I figure no news is always good news. Another thing there doing advising this week and someone said that they'll be late registration for students accepted in mid Feb. Continue calling, emailing, and making visits up there it'll pay off! I'm soooooooo :sofahider tired-I'm taking micro/ap 2 lec online! Well good luck and keep me posted.

Theres no organization! These people are full of ? I don't understand why these people are giving students so much hope. They could make this so much easier. Why not give everyone the same info? It woukd be much easier and less confussion. I hope that the info that they've given to me is accurate. Guess I have no other choice but to be patient like almost everyone else. I'll keep you posted if anything happens.- New Orleans Spring 06 nursing student

Who is Ms. Richie? "Don't believe what you read." The staff is giving false info to its students. More than 5 students reported back to me that they requested early admission and were told to request it by writting the needed info on a sheet of paper, and the info was then plaed in their file. I know that their overwhelmed but they need to be more professional with the way they handle bussiness. Please if you can provide me with the site or info to email Ms Egar or Ms Richie. Thanks, please keep me posted.- Chairty fall 06 applicant--anyone else??
I took the AP 2 lab @ the West Bank campus, the class was pretty accelerated. I did pretty well in the class,I received an A. Trust me I earned every bit of it. I would never do anything as Foolish as that again ,but I was pretty desprate and anxious to begin nursing school so I decided to take the class. I guess you can say that things worked out. Are you able to provide me with her email address? Thanks.- Chairty fall 06 applicant--anyone else??
Did you receive that info today? I hope that everything will workout for you.Keep me posted, maybe we'll take a class together. Good luck.- *** A&P II Winter 2006 Club ***
It's plenty but you'll do just fine. GOOOOD LUUUUUCK!- *** A&P II Winter 2006 Club ***
Trust me you are not the only one feeling this way.Not only do I not retain the info immediatrly, I write it,record it,draw it,and spend many many hours studying it!The blood type was confusing for me also. I decided to make a chart on a poster AB ABO and etc then I read up on it using my AP book after that I compared it with the lab manual. Guess what it worked. Continue giving it your all.You managed in AP 1, you'll manage in AP 2. Keep me posted .- New Orleans Spring 06 nursing student
I hope everything works out for your family. Charity is really trying but they lack certain resources. Good luck with school. Thanks alot.- Chairty fall 06 applicant--anyone else??
If you have the time to go to Charity you can request eary admission. My sister went there today and she requested early admission. She was told to write on a sheet of paper that she would like to be considered for early admission. They informed her that their are openings in Aprils class and as long as you have the needed documents you will be considered. If you have the resources I have the # of a lady who does CPR certification and you receive your certification the same day. Even if your accepted 2 major documents are needed 1)CPR certification 2)Student nurse liability you can obtain this info at www.nso.com it's student nurse profession liability. I am also enrolled but I'm taking online courses since classes @ Charity will begin in April. My online classes are beginnig Jan 14-May and Charity April-the end of July or the beginning of Aug. Then 2nd semester will begin Aug-Dec.I'm taking MICRO/AP 2 LEC.I took the AP 2 LAB durning the intersession. Let me know how you make out.- New Orleans Spring 06 nursing student
Yes I did receive my acceptance letter before hurricane Katrina hit. Originally I was to begin Jan 06 but the class has been set for April 06. I was told that orintation letters will go out at the end of this month. Orintation should be the beginning of Feb. Did you receive your acceptance letter? Are you from N.O? If so,what part?- Chairty fall 06 applicant--anyone else??
Did you receive the email I sent you with the # for (CPR) Mrs.Mary? Have you heard anything from Charity? Did they receive your transcripts? I also know a place where you can go to take those needed shots. Well take it easy.- Chairty fall 06 applicant--anyone else??
Yes you will need your shots but you still have time. You can take your 1st hep shot now your 2nd hep shot 3 months later and your final hep 6months from the 1st if i'm not mistaken. You'll be able to prove to them that you've begun the series which is not going to be a problem. Your TB skin test is required yearly. Your main concern should be your CPR license that is easy to obtain. I have the # of Miss. Mary, she's responsible for mostly all the students @ Charity as far as CPR license are concerned. I don't think you should drop your classes only because you'll have a month left to finish. Remember school begins @ Delgado Jan 14-May? Charity will begin April-August. You'll do fine w/that 1 month b/w both schools. My thing is just do it and get it over with.- Chairty fall 06 applicant--anyone else??
Go speak w/Ms Galvin and request April. No we have not scheduled classes for Charity yet. I did register @ Delgado for online classes until school begins in April @ Charity which is AP 2 Lec/Micro.We'll receive letters for Aprils class at the end of this month.Their behind in everything.I was told in the beginning of Feb we'll decide if we want to enter Aprils class or Aug. Also we'll do backdchecks /fingerpriniting at that time. How did you make out today?- *** A&P II Winter 2006 Club ***
Hello:specs: everyone my 1st day for AP 2 lec is Jan 14 online.I completed AP 2 lab durning an intersession Dec 05 in New Orleans,LA for all students enrolled before the storm. The class was 3 weeks, beginning Dec 01- Dec 22 it wasn't as bad as I thought. Well I'm anxious to begin. I'm taking Micro along with AP 2 the class ends April. Has anyone taken micro of human pathogens? If so, any suggesstions?- Chairty fall 06 applicant--anyone else??
If I were you I would not wait until 2:30 to go up there only because if the school responsible for getting your documents to charity dont come through you have time to get in contact w/them. Why not bring an unofficial transcript to them proving you've completed those classes? THEY NEED PROOF!!!!!!!!! Maybe you can request April 06 only because a good bit of students may not return. You need to stay on them. They've lost a good bit of their staff to the storm due to the downsizing and mainly lack of housing. I would also consider taking micro and any fine art electives left over in Jan if you haven't already. Myself on the other hand bothered those people like crazy!I scored a 147 on PAX, completed all classes w/the exception of anatomy 2 lect/micro which I've scheduled for Jan online. I began at Delgado Jan 04 w/o sitting out any semesters. I took my PAX March 05,results were in maybe April 05,and accepted May 05 if I'm not mistaken.I know you'll get in ! If you need anything else email me. Good luck.- Chairty fall 06 applicant--anyone else??
Yes the mail in N.O. is screwed up! What part of N.O. are you from? I'm from New Orleans east. The storm screwed over alot of us. I was to begin Jan 06 but as you already know we were pushed back so the senior can continue their program. Well I was recently in N.O. taking advantage of the intersession they offered for the students that were inrolled before the storm came and I was at Charity every day making sure they had all needed paper work. I was told that alot of the mail was misplaced due to Katrina/Rita. My sister and cousin are both awaiting notification for Fall 06. They were told that their documents were misplaced and had a deadline to get necessary paper work in or their file will not go in front of the committee board. If I were you I would go up their everyday it really worked for me. Talk with Ms. Galvin, she should be of some help to you. At the present Charity has zero nursing advisors. I pretty much know what you need in order to be considered. Feel free to contact me if I could be of any further help. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!- New Orleans Spring 06 nursing student
:flowersfo Spring 06 nursing:nurse: student looking for a serious:specs: study partner:smiley_ab! I will begin April 2006 @ Charity School of Nursing:nurse:in New Orleans,LA .Anyone interested beginning the same time, please feel free to drop a line.:) Thanks, Angela- DH dying-need prayers
My prayers are w/your husband and your family. May our lord be with you durning this difficult time.- Chairty fall 06 applicant--anyone else??
I'm Spring of 06. I was told that because of hurricane Katrina I will not begin until April 06. Letters will go out at the end of Jan. At the present I'm in Lithonia,GA the choice to go back was a pretty easy one, only because I have so much to give back to the citizens of New Orleans. Hopefully we'll meet up in nursing school. Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!! - Chairty fall 06 applicant--anyone else??
