Last Spring application cycle they didn't get acceptance emails until around November 9th I think and it looks like they're even more understaffed this year. I think early November sounds about right.

Oh! There wasn't anything listed before but now it does show my results my criminal records check is still "in progress" but everything else seems to have come back fine I think.

Does anyone know how long the background check is supposed to take and if we're supposed to receive any confirmation that everything was cleared? I had my name legally changed years ago (not through marriage) but the service that they use did not ask for any former names outside of maiden name so I'm wondering if that's going to cause me delay/issues.

To try and be as thorough and detailed as possible there is the TWU application process and the NursingCAS application process. First you send the application through ApplyTexas, and submit your transcripts to TWU. TWU responds with giving you access to the applicant portal for their university, and should accept you pretty promptly once they verify your transcripts. Once you are accepted into TWU there is the NursingCAS application. The transcripts you send to nursingCAS are utilized broadly for all the programs you apply to. You only have to submit one transcript from your colleges to NursingCAS and it will apply to each application. So, for example, if you are applying to TCU, UTA, and TWU (through nursingcas) you only need to send the transcript once to NursingCAS. Does that make sense?

I've been seeing so many posts similar to this about COVID-related burnout and overwhelm. I'm still a student, do you think there's a way to mentally prepare for this sort of environment before I get out there?

Getting over test anxiety can be really difficult. I use to stress so badly I would make myself sick on test days, sometimes to the point of vomiting. There are a few therapy techniques that I practice that help me, and one that helps a lot is playing "worst, best, and most likely scenario" which is exactly how it sounds. What's the worst-case scenario for your performance on this test, how will you handle/cope with that What is the best-case scenario? Now given the resources you have and the information you know to be true, what is the most likely scenario? It helps you sort of decatastrophize it in your head ?

Yeah you should try to get in at least two quality REM cycles each night to make sure your brain is doing the work it needs to do.

I use a chrome extension with a built in Pomodoro timer and blocks social media sites for the 20-25 min study and opens them back up during my break. it's been really helpful for keeping on task

Yes, official transcripts only. But I am concerned. It looks like you're a transfer student, did you also submit your ApplyTexas application for TWU and get accepted as nursing-entry? You have to have completed that step and been accepted into the college in order to submit the nursingCAS application. (also sorry if we're flooding this but I don't have PM privileges yet :|)
