Thank you! I’m so excited to start. I was supposed to start last quarter but had issues with FAFSA and ended up missing the registration deadline. But I basically completed all of my pre-reqs so I’ll hopefully be done in no time :) I got my acceptance pretty much right after Galen received my passing score for the TEAS. Have you already taken yours?

I wanted to add that all of my things in My Documents on WebAdvisor are finally showing “received.” It was taking a while so I’m hoping this means that all applications have been reviewed.

I’m so sorry to hear you had to forfeit your seat! I agree about the orientation date meaning we’ll probably hear something soon. Orientation is just a little over 3 weeks away, I just want to know something already so I can stop stressing! LOL

This is exactly what mine looks like! I spoke to admissions and was told my questions couldn’t be answered until all applications were reviewed. I feel pretty stuck but will just wait until decisions go out.

I can see in WebAdvisor that they have entered in my completed pre-reqs for my application. It shows that they have all been fulfilled. So I know they’ve seen my official transcripts, since one of the classes I just completed in May. Also, I sent in my TEAS score way before the application deadline, plus I had to pay for it to be sent to HCC, the money was taken out of my account, and I got a confirmation from ATI. The only thing I could possibly see an issue arising with would be proof my application fee payment, which they notified me I did not include in my app but I immediately submitted it when I was notified, which was before the deadline. So I’m really not sure why these 3 are still showing as not received... and I can’t really find out why because when I talked to admissions they said they can’t answer any questions until all applications have been reviewed. Kind of confused on what to do about this other than just waiting.

You’re absolutely right! I’m hoping for the best but I know that no matter what, I’m gonna make it happen and become a nurse and eventually reach my goal of achieving my DNP. We all got this and I believe in everyone!

Your pre req is still good! Mine is a 3.01. I’ve pretty much accepted that I won’t be getting (which hurts a little bit ?) but I had to give it a shot. Now I’m trying to make the decision to possibly retake some of the pre-req courses and apply again ASAP or to go to Galen. I’m also still waiting to hear from 3 other state schools that I’ve applied to. I think you still have a good chance to be accepted!

Yay good for you! and oop, I’m probably wrong. I vaguely remember seeing a nursing student talk about fundamentals 2 or something like that on here, but honestly can’t remember for sure. Either way, so happy for and I hope everything goes well!!

Hi! I know this thread is a little old now, but was wondering if any of you know if USF’s ABSN look at grades on second attempts? Or do they only look at the first attempt?

Hi everyone! I was wondering if the ABSN program looks at first or second attempts regarding classes you’ve retaken. Also, would you know how many re-takes are allowed? I thought about trying to get better grades in a few classes over the Summer to bump up my GPA

COVID is definitely to blame for a lot of things at the moment LOL. I’ve seen some CNA/ER Tech/PCT positions that will hire you if you have completed either fundamentals of nursing 1 or fundamentals 1 & 2.

I actually have no idea what it means LOL. I almost thought maybe it was a typo when we were talking, like maybe “funded?” But it still wouldn’t make much sense. Besides that - it was definitely good to hear that her experience is going well so far. I actually just settled in at home from work and saw that I missed a call from my advisor so I’ll be calling him back to see what my status is! We’re currently dealing with an appeal because of some confusion with my grade forgiveness I used in two classes at USF. Are you looking at any other programs?

Hey!! I spoke to another girl who graduated from USF in 2019 who is currently in Utica’s ABSN program and the only negative thing she had to say was that she doesn’t think they’re “founded” and that they program can get a little disorganized. Her main thing was that you have to be really dedicated to your work. She’s had a great experience with all of her professors and she chose Utica over other programs because she prefers online classes

This happened to me too! For some reason I thought you didn’t have to include your proof of payment if you paid the fee online. I resent it and then sent a separate email to the health sciences department letting them know I corrected my submission and was making sure they received it. If I don’t hear back tomorrow by 1 or 2 I’m going to call.

I just got an acceptance from Galen but I’m waiting on a few state colleges to make my official decision. I’m hoping to move into a new place so where I go to school will play a big part in my decision

Hey! So far, no real luck. A lot of reviews I came across weren’t in their favor at all. I just recently graduated from USF and a girl who also graduated chose to go to Utica. I’m still keeping in touch with the advisor from there just to have them as a back up. If you find anything, please keep me updated!

I’m hoping testing centers will find a way to work with COVID-19 soon, I am so ready to get my CNA!
