Duke health vs WakeMed
Hi everyone, I wanted to ask which hospital system is better overall & pays nurses more. Duke Health or WakeMed? I'm considering Duke University Hospital, Duke Raleigh, and WakeMed Raleigh Campus.

USA to Canada
Hi, I've decided to just do travel nursing in the US when I move to quebec. Nursing in quebec isn't worth it to me in terms of pay. They require so much and don't even pay that much. I'd rather just live in Quebec and pick up assignments in the US from time to time. I'm hoping to do real estate investing in Quebec though.

Remote Work while living abroad
Ah okay! So I could definitely live in Canada and still practice remotely for whatever state license I have even if I'm not currently residing there. Got it. Thank you! I'll certainly check with the BON for whatever state the remote job requires licensure.

Remote Work while living abroad
That's what I'm referring to. The single state. If nurses are living abroad how are they maintaining a single state license if they don't rent or own in the state.

Remote Work while living abroad
Thank you for the information. How would I maintain residency in a particular state if I'm living abroad and don't have a house or apartment in the US? Would I have to use my parents address or something? I wonder how the nurses abroad are doing it.

Remote Work while living abroad
Thank you! I understand now.

Remote Work while living abroad
But don't travelers (travel nurses) who don't reside In the compact states obtain the license?
-
Remote Work while living abroad
I'd have a compact license and that's the thing. I would tell them I live in Canada.

Remote Work while living abroad
Hi everyone, So I'm thinking about moving to Canada, specifically Quebec, and would like to know if anyone knows of a US company that'll allow remote work while living abroad? I want to keep my US nursing license active but I'm just not sure if I can use this license while living in another country? I know a lot of NPs do it though.

Quebec and NCLEX
The other provinces use NCLEX. I believe even nurses from the other provinces have to take quebec's nursing exam since they don't use NCLEX.

Quebec and NCLEX
I'm also from NY trying to move to Quebec but looking up the process is scaring me. We'd have to take Quebec's province nursing exam which has a limit of 3 times within 2 years and be proficient in French. Did you take the exam ?

USA to Canada
Yeah one of the agency told me I'd need Canadian experience even if I'm a travel nurse in America. So I'll most likely work as a staff for a year in Quebec and then start traveling. I'm thinking about doing traveling in America and Canada though but we'll see when the time comes. I'm over America's healthcare system. Which province did you move to?

USA to Canada
Hi, so I've done research and seen other Canadian nurses post. There are travel agencies just not within Quebec. Also many people have said you can get by with just English but yes I speak French & I have my BSN. I don't think you need citizenship to work there. PR works fine. These are the agencies: Solutions Staffing Select Medical Connections Travelnurse.ca Sympatico Medical Solutions

USA to Canada
Hi , Thanks for your answer. I am planning on getting my canadian nursing license. I've looked up the process and options to get immigration status so I'm might use skilled worker. But, I'm not really worried about those 2. I'm more so concerned about the opportunities for nurses such as travel nursing and per diem jobs for people who don't want to be staff permanently.

Canadian travel nurse going to CA
Hi I have a question. Do Canada not have travel assignments ? I've been looking but most information are Canadian nurses traveling to USA.

American Nurses who moved to Ontario, what was your compensation?
This doesn't really answer your question sorry but I was wondering the same. I'm trying to move to Quebec province but I don't want to be a staff. IDK if Canada has travel nursing or if I should just maintain dual citizenship and travel nurse in America.

USA to Canada
Hi Everyone, I'm planning on moving to Quebec province from USA because I'm tired of being here. I need a better quality of life and America is just not it for me right now. But, do Canada have travel nursing within the country or a lot of per diem opportunites? I don't want to work as a full time staff. Any of you been in this predicament or know someone who has? Canadian nurses tune in. I'm considering just being a dual citizen so I can work travel nurse jobs in America but live in Canada. I just don't know if I need a job lined up in order to gain my immigration status in Canada

Hi guys, I’m on academic probation at my current nursing program and I’m trying to come up with a back up plan in case I don’t achieve the grade I need to remain in the program. Do any one know of any nursing programs that won’t make you start your journey all over again and will let you transfer in some courses ? I’m really trying to avoid doing another 2 years of school. I’ve been in college since 2017 and really don’t have it in me to start all over.

Travel nursing pay, is it worth it?
Hi, I'm currently working with the pharmacy department for a travel assignment. Do you mind telling me if they offer a meal stipend and the amount of the housing stipend?
