Thank you. I’m so excited to meet you ladies at orientation. We should all maybe try to get there a couple of minutes early and meet up?

When you guys got your confirmation email did it just say “received”? If you download “office lens” (free) it’s just as good as a scanner. I use it 24/7.

Thank you so much!! I want to be an NP too. I just realized if I wait and do the RN-BSN my financial aid will cover almost all of the two programs. It sucks we can’t get financial aid from two schools at once ? this way I won’t be in debt for like 42k after all of the interest. The loan I needed for 17k at a 9% interest rate and would be that much after 15 years. Also** I have a bf who is in grad school. We will be living off of his small stipend. So I don’t have like a husband and I don’t plan on working in the program. I’m sad but this is what works for me ?

Thank you very much for your advice. I was asking some local nurses I know through work about what I should do. They said to just do the ADN first if that’s all I can afford. The hospitals here don’t require you to get your BSN in any time frame. I also heard that new RNs regardless of BSN all start at around 26/hr. I got my confirmation email two days ago just FYI and I emailed them Monday night.

In the Tucson area UMC and TMC both hire ADN’s. They prefer a bachelors for the areas I want to specialize like the ICU. I’m going to try my hardest to get a loan but the program is a lot of money ? I’m so happy that you guys got in and you can afford to pay for it

I’ve been doing a lot of research on this before I decide. I really appreciate you taking the time to email me and I agree with you entirely! They’ve been trying to push for the bachelors in 10 years thing and NY is the only state that passed it, and it took 14 years! I highly doubt anyone will dare to propose such legislation within a couple of years of this pandemic. I just don’t have the means to pay for both and unfortunately I can’t just hope for scholarships and loans. TMC and UMC both hire nurses with associates degrees.

I’m starting to rethink my decision to accept the CEP program because of how much it’ll cost me. Any thoughts?

If anyone has applied for federal student loans and or private student loans I would love to know the process. I think that after the federal grants and loans I’ll still need like a 15k private loan.

Pima CC 2020
Yes! You just submit both Must *
-
Pima CC 2020
Yup you can choose NAU or ASU or just ADN. I’m not sure if I’ll do the CEP... I don’t know how I’ll pay for it all

We’ve waited so long. Congratulations ladies. We all have worked so hard and deserve this. I want to have a party and drink but I can’t !!
-
Pima CC 2020
Yeah I got into both!! I wonder if anyone didn’t get in... I don’t want to crush anyone’s feelings

We are very unfortunate indeed. I wish they would have gotten the emails out promptly as to avoid this delay. I seriously doubt I’ll be able to get a private loan with the massive recession we are entering and potentially depression. I am even worried about financial aid now. We need nurses and this should be a high priority. There’s no way they’ll cancel the nursing classes for August. We need nurses to take care of the sick.

Amanda emailed me back today and said that the responses were supposed to go out this week (like everyone else said) but now that the college is closed she has no idea when we will find out now.

They all preferred TMC over UMC because of the work environment, work life balance and benefits I believe. I’ll ask my friend for more specifics. I know a NP who was offered a significant raise at UMC who declined because they like TMC so much more. and yeah I sure hope he find out sometime this month. Who knows.

So now that Pima campus’s are officially closed as of tomorrow. What does this mean for us?? That we won’t find until after Spring break? Or will we ever find out....I’m pretty much hopeless at this point

Fortunately Whole Foods is a great company to work for and I can take as much time off as I need. Unfortunately I am out of PTO and am not contagious so I must go back to work. Thank you. Being a CNA is a wonderful job. I know you’ll definitely get into the ASU CEP. I’m so anxious for us to be accepted. I am from Tucson so I could give you a few suggestions on where to move to/work at. UMC is the university hospital and the only trauma 1 center in Tucson. I volunteered at TMC and know a few people who have worked for UMC and TMC. They all prefer TMC. Pima west campus is located next to some undesirable areas of town. Where the campus is located is beautiful and safe but a half a mile East is not safe and not a good place to live. That’s how Tucson is, one area is great and right next to it is not. I’m sure Washington is the same.

Oh WOW! that’s so cool you work at a hospital already. Well I’m glad to know that you are safe and things aren’t too hectic! I work at Whole Foods and they just increased our hourly rates to try and get us to work more over time. Unfortunately I still have bronchitis and my chest hurts bad. Are you a surgical tech?

I remember you said something about your application and being from Washington. Thanks for the clarification. Do you still live there? And are you okay with the virus? I don’t mean that you have it I just mean with the chaos going on

I wonder if ASU calls all of the students who they are considering for entrance. They didn’t call me ?
-
Pima CC 2020
