  1. Hi everyone, I am currently a student in an ADN program and was wondering if I could get some insight on MSN programs. My ultimate goal is to become a FNP. But I am a bit confused from my research on MSN programs as majority of the online programs are to pursue degrees as nursing educators. If anyone can give me information on the path I should be taking in terms of becoming an FNP that would be very much appreciated!
  2. Hey guys, I just created one since I couldn't find any for our class. Just message me with your email address if you want to join since I don't think I can send a link for it because its private!
  3. They haven't provided any information regarding classes besides the welcome letter for nursing 1 and then the instructions to register for moodlerooms from the packet. Also does anyone know if we were we supposed to send in all the required documents such as the enrollment agreement and CPR card to ------------------------? I sent them to her but she hasn't responded.
  4. Anyone commuting from a different borough to the school? Debating on if I should commute or just get an apartment near the school. Traffic has been fine since we are still in phase two, but once everything opens back up, the traffic on the highways are going to be insane again.
  5. Did you guys purchase all the textbooks on that list? It's a lot and I'm not sure if everything is necessary
  6. Finally got my packet! It's a lot to go through, wish they sent this to us earlier.
  7. Did everyone already receive their packets? I’m still waiting on mine ?
  8. Any word on the packets? Also, do we have to be CPR certified before the start of the program or will they be providing that training to us? I was CPR certified but it expires by the end of Summer.
  9. So funny, I was literally thinking the exact same thing that maybe they sent me an acceptance accidentally. I had called to submit my deposit yesterday and they said that we should be expecting the packet this week.
  10. Thank you! I received an email at 4:48pm. Good luck to the rest of you. I know exactly how you feel! I was really sitting at home checking my email every second I could. Don't be too nervous though, they are making their rounds. I had called them a couple of weeks ago asking if they send out non-acceptance letters as well and they said they do.
  11. Congratulations to those who got accepted! ? I checked my email and received an acceptance as well, so exciting! I was not expecting that today.
  12. Thank you @mcziolko1 for sharing that information. Congratulations on your acceptance! ? @emilycone Nothing for me either
  13. Congratulations to those who got accepted! If you guys dont mind, can you share your stats? It's definitely a tough time right now with the virus going on, everything seems to be delayed. Good luck to everyone and stay positive even though this waiting game is torture! ? Stay safe and healthy as well.
  14. Has anyone else heard back yet?
  15. I actually didn't end up going to CUNY SPS. I figured it would be best for me to just take the classes in person since I felt like the learning environment would be better for me.
  16. Hey guys! Does anyone know when they will finish sending out exam invitations? Getting pretty nervous because I haven't heard anything yet.
  17. Hi ashlnune20, I'm also interested in this program as well. I didn't see an email on their website, but they listed their phone number as 1800-556-6676. I will be calling tomorrow to find out more information. So far, all I see is that it is a 3 year program. They look at HS algebra, biology, and chemistry grades with a cumulative GPA of 2.75. You also have to take your ATI TEAS and get a score of proficient or higher. Jen
  18. Hey guys, I am interested in this program and have a couple of questions since the program has been unresponsive. I have obtained a Bachelors in Human Biology and while I will apply to ABSN programs, I also don't want to limit myself from ADN programs. Are you allowed to choose to use your HS grades or your college grades? For example, I took algebra in high school but not in college. Can my grade from CHEM II be used instead of CHEM I? Also if you retake a prerequisite, does the program replace the grade or take the average of the grades? Last question, what were the competitive grades for acceptance? If anyone has any answers to the questions, I would greatly appreciate the help! Thanks, Jen

  20. Hey guys, I'm currently researching available programs in NYC and came across Laguardia. I have a couple of questions that you all might have the answers to since the program has been unresponsive. I was wondering if a writing intensive course or a score of 3 on the English AP exam can substitute for ENG101? Can the grade for CHEM II be used instead of CHEM I? Also if you retake a prerequisite, does the program replace the grade or take the average of the grades? Last question, what were the competitive grades for acceptance? If anyone has any answers to the questions, I would greatly appreciate the help! Thanks, Jen
  21. Hey guys, I was looking into this program and just had a couple of questions. I had emailed the program and they are taking a while to get back to me. I was wondering if a writing intensive course or a score of 3 on the English AP exam can substitute for ENG101? Can Intro to Statistics be supplemented for MAT1190? Also if you retake a prerequisite, does the program replace the grade or take the average of the grades? Last question, what were the competitive grades for acceptance? If anyone has any answers to the questions, I would greatly appreciate the help! Thanks, Jen
  22. Hey guys, I was wondering if there was anyone taking online classes at CUNY SPS and knows if their transcripts say that the courses are online? I've heard that some schools don't display if the classes are online or not. For example, on my undergrad transcript, online classes that I have taken did not say it was online. But since CUNY SPS is primarily for online classes, I don't know if that would be different. Has anyone had this experience as well? Thank you!
  23. Thank you guys so much for the responses! I definitely appreciate you all taking the time to help me out. I was becoming really discouraged as I know this field does not come easy. I have emailed most of the programs I am interested in to get a better perspective on retakes and the competitive grades. Just waiting for responses now as it is a busy time due to the holidays. Happy Holidays btw! ?
  24. Hey guys! So I recently graduated with a Bachelors in human biology and am interested in going the nursing route. Unfortunately while I was in college, I didn't do so well in some of the science courses such as getting C's. Where I have even retaken them and gotten C's again. Originally, I was going to apply to ABSN programs but am realizing that the requirements are really competitive. I've been thinking about applying to ADN programs in NYC instead even though they are still competitive. Based on your knowledge and experience, do programs usually take the higher grade or average? Should I retake the classes such as Chemistry and A&PII (since they are common pre-reqs) a third time since I had gotten C's? And would you recommend that I take them online this time around? I know that every program is different but I would like to hear different opinions on this subject as well. Thank you, it means a lot!
