  1. I am currently an ICU nurse in California but will be applying to schools out of state. Will I need another nursing license if I attend an out of state school? For example, a second license for the state I go to school in before I start school?
  2. I know of an ICU nurse who then worked in OR and he hated it. He came back to the ICU. If you're feeling burnt out from the stress of the ICU, night shift Telemetry is pretty nice depending on the hospital. Try out different specialties by applying for per diem jobs and see what you like and what you don't like. The only way to know is to try!
  3. I am new to using EPIC and having a difficult time learning the interface. Is there anyway to download the "PLAY" version of EPIC onto your home desktop or laptop to practice charting?
  4. Do they still have the requirement that you have to take a Chemistry class within the last 5 years? I have all the requirements except that one. If someone took Chemistry as a freshman and worked in the ICU for a few years then almost everyone would have to retake Chemistry right?
  5. when is the application deadline?
  6. No would be the simple answer. Many of us have busted our behinds working tirelessly in the ICU for many years to improve our knowledge, help people, become better ICU nurses and prepare for CRNA school. You cannot just simply "waive" this requirement and the mere question is rather ridiculous. No school will waive this requirement. You will have to wait it out and find an ICU to work in just like everyone else had to.
  7. Moving seems drastic. You don't necessarily need CVICU experience to pass the CCRN or to get into CRNA School. If you like your current job, I'd say just stick with it.
  8. I might send an email today.
  9. Has anyone emailed or called admissions or is everyone just planning to wait for the mail?
  10. Has anyone who interviewed at any time (first or last round) been given a decision? If so how were you notified?
  11. Is there anyone who has interviewed who has heard back yet with either acceptance or rejection or waitlist? If so, how were you notified? Call or email?
  12. I would also like to get more information about the program if anyone on the forum is attending or previously attended.
  13. One of the schools I'm considering. Sounds like a good program and does not require the GRE. Application deadline is coming up!
  14. do you mind if I ask which school you got accepted to and what your stats were before you applied? That's awesome that you got in! I wish you the best!
