Hey! I feel like I'm late to the party but here is this video that I found and hopefully this could help you ? I was in your similar situation! I eventually decided to go to ABSN because I was so fixated on the title of "Masters", that I thought it would be great since I already have BS. I actually talked to department nurse who interviews new nurse on there unit, and they to also explained that " An RN is an RN, yes you have a MEN degree but that does not make you any more qualify than an BSN" in addition to that "MEN are not cheap you are essentially going into nursing school for 2-3 years just to get your RN, were as you can get your RN is 12-18 months and start working! and she was right.My end goal is to become a FNP-DNP. I am attending an ABSN that is 18 months long and after the program I want to work for a year or two and apply to a BSN-DNP FNP program. Look into post BSN DNP programs:) Show less

Hey Femisola! I apologize in advance for responding many months later, but I would like to thank you for opening up this dialogue between Entry level Masters and ABSN. You gave your perspective about the two degrees and honestly, your right! I was soo wrapped around getting my Entry level Masters, because I already have a Bachelors in science. I lost sight on what matters and what make sense to me and my path. At the end of the day RN is an RN, why would I pay for a 2 year degree, when I can get in 12-16 months. Many DNP programs (I am interested in getting my DNP-FNP) actually don't accept people who have Entry-level masters degree (GWU). I understand if you are applying to Entry level Masters and you already have your bachelors and masters in another field. I would to encourage other people to look into getting ABSN. I got accepted to GWU ABSN and I can't wait! Once again Thanks?

Hey! I recently applied to the GWU ABSN 2020 program this past week. I am waiting on my last LOR to come in. But I am extremely nervous cause I applied late. Does anyone know how many people they accept in the summer program? Big congratulations for anyone who got in ?

Hey I'm an early applicant and I haven't heard back as well. My interview was before the priority deadline. And I am worried to. All I see is committee review

Hey! No problem and yes I did the writing sample I submitted my complete application on July 12 It became committee review on July 17 I received an interview invite on July 24 i hope this helps ?
