Best of luck to you as well! FYI, although private school tuition is much higher, you can qualify for public service loan forgiveness (if you work for a specific type of employer such as a hospital or 501c3, etc. and have a federal direct loan - unsubsidized or PLUS) after 10 years so it ends up being just about the same out of pocket price as a public school (assuming you net present value the dollar amount paid). https://studentaid.gov/manage-loans/forgiveness-cancellation/public-service

For those with a 3.0 undergrad who want to become a CRNA
@mbmathews How did you handle the recommendations? Did you use the same recommendations when you applied the second year or did you ask for completely new ones? I often find getting the recommendations is the hardest part of the application because it is out of your control and you don't want to annoy your recommenders, especially if you are applying to several schools.

SUNY Downstate ABSN 2020-2021
I haven't received an interview request =( Does anyone know how many spots are still left? Is there still hope for me? Pre-req GPA: 3.69 Science GPA: 3.67 Cumulative GPA: 3.35 (don't know how they calculated this, my own calculation says its a 3.41) TEAS - Reading: 97.9% - Math: 100% - Science: 76.6% : took this before I finished APII bc they said the last date to take it was Nov 30, and then they extended the deadline to Jan 30 after I already took the TEAS >=( - CUMULATIVE: 86% (96th percentile) Sidenote: I just finished my APII class today (Feb 24) and my Dev Psych will finish in the next week. I wonder if having 2 outstanding pre-reqs disqualified me? Or was it my low cum GPA (I graduated undergrad 13 years ago with a degree in liberal arts, no sciences)

I am getting the impression that their new admissions software is not working as smoothly as they expected. I don't understand how it can take 3+ weeks to update a check list, especially when in late December they updated it almost same day. This is all just pure speculation though, so don't mind me.. When I went to the info session a few weeks back they said that applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.. which is concerning because I submitted mine prior to the original deadline of Nov 30 and haven't heard anything. And, they keep pushing the deadline back (was originally Nov 30, then they pushed to end of Dec, and now it is Jan 31) so it seems they aren't happy with the applicants they already have and are hoping more people apply?? It will be very telling if they push the deadline back a third time. I guess what I'm really saying is that I'm not feeling confident about getting accepted lol

Not to worry - no panic caused! I haven't found any reviews at all about the program, so please share if you do! Honestly, for the price of tuition I feel like it will mostly be a self-learning/self-navigated environment with people just wanting to get in and out quickly. Organization of state run schools is always a challenge. Good thing is they have a high NCLEX pass rate (94.1% 64/68 people passed): http://www.op.nysed.gov/prof/nurse/nclexrn2018-2022.htm
