I got an email and my portal changed, with a checkmark and the option to accept or decline. Once I paid my deposit, it went back to the green circle saying "complete".

I’m pretty shocked I got in, especially as I’ve learned more about the school. Just worried I can’t hack it.

I had the opposite experience- I have to communicate via email (living in South Korea with an international phone number and a 13 hour time difference), and he agreed to that... then never responded to another of my emails. I got into somewhere I prefer over Ursuline, though, so it doesn't really matter.

Thanks! I'm deciding between there and another non-TX school, but I'm relieved to have an acceptance.

I was accepted to UTMB for Spring 2020.

This thread is full of people who got denied, myself included. My science GPA was a 4.0 and I got denied.

I didn't actually study for it. I had a very strong background in all of those subjects, and I literally tutor in most of them.

Accepted as well! BS/MS in Biology. No healthcare experience. Cumulative GPA: 3.44 Prereq: 3.83 Prereq Science: 4.0 TEAS English: 91.7 TEAS Math: 100 TEAS Reading: 95.7 TEAS Science: 100 TEAS Cumulative: 97.3

You can retake that course anywhere, as long as it’s accredited. Retake policy varies by school, so be sure to check on that.

How were the class averages? If they're bad, she'll probably curve. If they're fine, then it sounds like everyone else is managing and you need to adjust your study techniques. Also, just from my experience (taught A&P lab for years and helped with the lecture+exam design), what students think "this wasn't in our notes" is usually an application question intended to get you to apply what you've learned. Students tend to focus entirely on memorization, then complain when a university-level class that's a prereq for healthcare professions asks them to think.

For those of you who didn't get into UTH for the Fall, how are you dealing with the rejection? I feel like such a failure- Houston is my hometown and I desperately wanted to go home. I just wasn't good enough. =(

CONGRATS! I followed your application for summer since we had very similar stats. I know it’s been a long journey for you, and I am super happy for you.

I was rejected as well. Cumulative GPA: 3.44 Prereq: 3.83 Prereq Science: 4.0 HESI: 98.29 (I think 100 on Anatomy, math, and chem, 98 on vocabulary and grammar, 96 on bio and reading)

I went back and looked at old UTMB threads to figure out when they were notified. What can I say, I was stuck on hold with customer service... Fall 2018: Early notifications went out around 2/28. It seems like this was for people with excellent stats who didn't need to interview. About 7 weeks after the deadline. Spring 2019: First notification was July 18. About 11 weeks after the deadline. Summer 2019: One person said the end of September, but more went out on October 18. About 8 weeks after deadline (I think) Fall 2019: First notification was March 28. About 10 weeks after the deadline. So based of that, mid-July seems like the earliest we should be on the lookout.

I’m sure people would post if they’d heard. Remember it’s only been a month since the deadline and they say 3-4.

I'd wait until 6/15. Remember they didn't promise anything until then. ?

Have you had dreams about it? I have and it made for some confusing mornings. XD

I'm sure several hundred of their applicants would put UTH as their first choice. Unfortunately, they only have 120ish seats. =/

I’m sure they aren’t the biggest fan of forums like this. Before the internet, nobody would have known acceptances had gone out. Extra pressure on them to get everything out quickly! XD

My uneducated guess is that they’ll send out rejections after the ten days has passed for the accepted people to decline their acceptances. I would guess that they’re keeping the rest of us in limbo so they can refill the waitlist depending on how many people decline. Total guess though.

That’s true. I was surprised at how different the deadlines were for UTH vs UTMB. Hopefully I won’t have to wait too much longer for a UTMB decision!

I decided to apply to the Sevierville cohort for Fall 2019, though I may need to defer. Anybody else applying to that or any other cohort?
