  1. i dont want to give specific details about my school (you know out of respect for my own privacy) Yes its a technical school and yes its very different from ontario, and yes it is called college here maybe in ontario its called something else, and yes it's much less expensive...thats all i can say.Anyway thannks for the feedback, the point here is not whether its a college or not or where my school is thats beside the point, or how good my english is, i just wanted to check if some of you had a similar experience and now i see that some of you do..thats ALL, so thank you for the feedback. END of message. PS. Yes communication is very important in nursing thats obvious, which is why if you dont understand sth, you clarify w the person instead of attacking them or judging them because we are all human and your own writing is not perfect. Once again this issue has NOTHING to do with my writing as i dont write my exams in english and no they are not corrected by computers, anyway once again thx for the feedback, and yes the injustice come from students sucking up to teachers and getting excellent grades, while those who dont suck up end up with bad grades even if you studied like crazy, and its even worse if you are a visible minority, sounds crazy huh.thx so much and END of msg cuz im tired of this perfectionist grammar stuff which has nothing to do with the situation at my school cuz i write in my native language.now i think this was a good excercise for you in cross cultural communication with someone who speaks english as a second language and maybe you can learn to have more patience, you can practice this with your patients too. ok BYE
  2. Wow well i thought this was a nursing forum and not a forum for people with master degrees in english. Clarification grade went from 90 to 40. And if you dont believe the tuition part look up tuitions in canadian technical colleges. I.Anyway thanks to all you guys who were nice and understanding.I appreciate it.
  3. Ruby i write my exams in my native language, (not in english) which is perfect. you seem to very obsessive about grammar and punctuation i can assure you it has nothing to do with it. Thanks for your advice though,
  4. i am the one who went from 90 to 40 and im a serious student and this is no urban legend this actually happened to me.Since it was a final test it is one of those mysteries cuz you dont get to review the anserws with the teacher and in my school believe it or not if u actually ask to see the exam you get punished even more which is why i say its a biggot school.I mean you do see sth is wrong here right???? I know my rights and this school doesnt respect it. Theyve already been sued many a time exept i dont have money to do it. its a govt school and i only pay very little money per session so maybe thats why....i dont go to university so its different i guess we have less rights and some people like you say are just plain sharks with a bad life who just like to ruin other peoples lifes.so at least now i know im not the only person to have encountered this kind of situation. And actually the students who are mediocre only get good grades cuz they suck up to her and are manipulative not because they have good technical skills or more knowledge. I know for a fact they made errors administering meds and yet they have never flunked whereas if it wouldve been me they wouldve kicked me out instantly. Anyway im just giving you the facts and asking for your opinion and thanks to all of those who were very supportive, and for the people who dont believe it well theres nothing i can do about that.
  5. Hi everyone. I go to a terrible school but am too advanced in the
  6. Become an RN instructor. In canada they get 80 bucks an hour during clinicals and its pretty easy and you dont even have to have a bachelors because of the shortage, otherwise go into geriatrics, nursing homes dont even have permanent doctors and the nurses call the shots
  7. I know tons of people who drop out because its an intensive program and they have kids. Its so time consuming. They also drop out cuz our teachers are crazy tyrans who drive people into depression, not very funny. ANd then other people drop out cuz they got a job in their field, most ppl i go to school with already have another background. some dont even like nursing they just want a good job
  8. Hi. Im an RN student and my teachers are the most improfessional people in the whole world. They constantly sit down at the nurses station to gossip, they publiclly humiliate us in front of other health professionals and even the patients how can nurses get any credibility with people like that. Ive never seen say a doctor trainee being treated like that its unheard us but us were like cattle its okay! its so degrading. Our teachers are doctor wannabes on a power trip. ive met very few people who are actually proud of being nurses.
  9. nurses at the hospital say theyve been saying that for years and not enforcing it and even if you do have to go back to school the hospital will pay thats what i was told
  10. Hi. Im a 4th semester nursing student doing obstetrics training at the hospital. Im doing the intensive course at night and the teachers they hire usually are people who are aldready working at hospital, plus teaching plus getting their university degree at the same time. A lot of them with burn outs or about to get one. Last week one of the students dropped out even though she had done nothing wrong just because our teacher was too intimidating and psychologically abusive. I thought i was doing fine. I havent made med mistake, ive given ivs succesfully i had a cesarian patient and did all that i was required to do but i was 15 minutes late finishing my work and got scolded by it. Next day i did teaching with my patient about hemorroids and my teacher said in class to put back inside protruiding hemorroids and apply cream so i did it and then got into trouble cuz she said i was dangerous and that they dont do that intervention anymore. Am i crazy or had you guys also heard about this technique? Now I have a feeling she wants to flunk me. My teacher got into trouble for flunking 5 students at theory level and now shes taking it out ....on me, cuz i believe she thinks i gave her a bad evaluation even though i didnt. From day two she told the other teachers that we were weak and were all going to fail. Then she called us and said it wasnt true. Then she admitted it was a joke. I mean what kind of sick joke? And now she says shes already talked to the director about my case which can only mean bad news and wants me to sign a paper which im sure is illegal and it would be like my death sentence. I dont want to but if i dont shell be furious. I have been so unlucky because the couple i was looking after: first baby, emergency c section baby almost died, mother hysterical and not adapting well to situation, plus father very upset at the hospital demanded to switch room temperature too cold etc etc asked my teacher to not have me as a nurse not cuz im not competent but cuz they are living tough situation and my teacher blames it on me . What can i do????? If i flunk my entire future as a nurse is threated. Please help. I havent done anything wrong i am a victim of a burned out teacher who was scolded by her boss and now i have to pay
