  1. Thank you so much for the encouragement! I'm going to give it a few weeks and still see if I feel this way, then I'll try to decide what I'm going to do. I believe that you could definitely do something else though if you wanted, nursing is hard and it's even harder if your heart's not in it anymore!
  2. I don't really have any advice for you so I'm sorry. But, I just wanted to let you know you're not alone. I'm feeling the same way. I just got into an LVN to RN program and am really considering if I want this. I keep telling myself I'll like the end goal but it's hard, if I could go back I would've never majored in nursing either. I'm a very anxious person and generally don't enjoy clinicals or doing procedures. I'm still young but wonder if I've already wasted too much time pursuing this. Sorry I don't really have an advice for you! But I do think if your hearts not in it you can always go back and do something else. Life is so short, don't get stuck doing something that you dread everyday. Best of luck to you!
  3. I applied to the LVN program at my local community college vs. the ADN program because the ADN had pre reqs and looked at your grades whereas the LVN program did not and only looked at TEAS score. Now, I'm in a new city but recently got accepted into a LVN to RN program and the community college. I've heard great things about this certain program so excited about that, but if I could go back I think I would've tried to just go straight to ADN. I only say that because I feel like it took me a little longer to get back to school but everyone has their own path! The LVN program I went to was great so I definitely am glad I atleast got into good programs! I chose both programs purely because they were good and located close to where I lived. Like other people have said, as long as it prepares me adequately for the NCLEX I'll be happy. I don't have a ton of skills as a LVN because my only experience is in triage and in clinic nursing so I'm hoping I won't feel too lost in this new program.
  4. Okay that's really helpful, thank you so much for the link. I guess I'll just study those and go practice at some point, I appreciate the help thank you!
  5. I agree with the above poster. The more you do tasks the more comfortable you will feel. I suffer with some anxiety too and all throughout clinicals it never really went away, I was always nervous. But, the longer you are there the less nervous you will be. It's nervewracking for sure, just try to be confident in yourself! I learn best when someone shows me how to do it and then walks me through how to do it myself.
  6. Hey guys! I'm curious how skills classes are going...I wasn't able to take the 1140 class during the summer so now have to take it in the fall. I saw where it said that everyone has to do a check off of the 1105 skills at the start of the semester and was kind of nervous about that. I haven't used the lab at Eastview before, does anyone know if there is someone to watch you and make sure you are doing things correctly? I know check offs can be particular and want to make sure I do things right! I had emailed someone but I got back a pretty vague response. I know I'm probably overthinking everything, just want to start off on the right foot! Sorry if this sounds like rambling haha, I'm just nervous even though we don't start for like two more months.
  7. I did my acceptance on my phone! ? congrats guys! So excited to meet all of you too!!
  8. Thank you! Congrats to you too! I accepted my spot also? so excited for us!!
  9. I got mine too!! I'm super excited!
  10. Thanks for the update! Good luck everyone!!
  11. Yeah it's definitely pretty confusing. But a 54 is a great score, you should get in with that!
  12. I got mine also, mine was 46.9. I don't know where that puts me with everyone else but I'm hoping we will hear if we got in or not by next week!
  13. Oh my gosh, that makes me so nervous. I haven't received anything yet!
  14. I'm hoping it's because they need more applicants. I'm pretty frustrated because had I known they were going to extend it so far out I would've retaken a class. I hope this means we all have a good chance of being accepted! It's getting harder to be patient but I'm just trying to stay positive about it.
