sure, I am a psych NP (MSN) working at a FQHC (under one of the biggest New York hospital systems) in Brooklyn. My debt to salary ratio is > 100%. Tier 1. Second year applying.

I also got my credit report pulled on 5/30/2024. This is my second year applying and is my first time getting credit pulled. Not sure how accurate this is given this year they're giving so few awards.

I believe as long as you are not in default with federal loan you will be fine

I think taking out the loan is an option and that’s what I am going to do. I only got $3500 merit scholarships for my first year and received no need based scholarships. I believe all other programs (with good reputation) have similar price tag. But It will be a good investment because of the quality of education and the salary you will make as a NP.

Hi, I think I'm in a similar position. I'm trying to decide between penn, yale, bc, and vandy. All of them are great schools and they all offered me a good amount of scholarships. Just curious how do you decide? Penn is expensive but I heard that they are the top one program ...

The Yale GEPN program... I haven’t received their financial aid package yet... so if they don’t give me any then I may choose BC.

Yes, it is frustrating. I don't want to give up Vanderbilt. But the fact that the decision will only come after other schools' deadline to put down deposit will not give me any time to decide...
