No hospital will hire me!
I'm in the same boat! I feel like in Texas they are extra picky. What I hear is that the best (maybe only) way to get anywhere as a new grad with a previous license is to make connections, talk to managers, volunteer at hospitals, and utilize social media such as Linkedin. I'm in Dallas and I have recently posted something similar here, looking for people to connect. I contacted a recruiter and was told that I might need to relocate to gain experience and then return here.... UGH

LVN 10+ years, Now RN searching for a job
I graduated as an LVN in 2010 and worked in Pediatric home health and a busy pediatric primary care clinic in Dallas. For the last 7 years, I have been a school nurse while working on my Associate's degree. Now that I have recently graduated as an RN, I'm finding myself stuck between 10 years of experience as an LVN but no "relevant" experience to get even an interview for an RN job. Some say I have "too much" experience for a Graduate Nurse position, and I disagree, it's like changing specialties sort of speak. I live in Dallas and most major hospitals have Magnet status, so I had no chance to work in a hospital setting as an LVN, especially staying in pediatrics. I'm looking for recommendations, tips, advice, a foot on the door... I'm applying everywhere that I feel I'd be interested in, not anything I know I'd hate. No luck so far.

Medical City Summer 2021 Nurse Residency
I don't feel so alone now! I applied right when it opened too and I have been obsessed with my email lately. I have not heard back from any hospital as of yet. I hope to hear back sometime in March!

Medical City Summer 2021 Nurse Residency
I have applied in several residencies throughout Dallas. I hope to hear something back! What are specialties you are interested in? I'm mostly wanting to be somewhat pediatrics: Mother/baby, NICU, ER and OR are my main options.

Excelsior and Texans
Well, I feel like I could have been done a long time ago, but with COVID, everything was at a standstill for several months. The school is now offering split CPNE, I was successful in the first part and will test the 2nd and final part end of December. I should be able to graduate by February!

Where are the Excelsior Warriors?
Repro was harder than I expected! Now, LS1 content I'm starting to actually enjoy. So I'm studying as much as I can but I feel like I've been on this process a long time! I needed someone to keep me focused... I feel ready to be done.

Where are the Excelsior Warriors?
Hello!! I've been looking for recent posts from Excelsior students and their experiences with the 3rd phase of testing (LS1, LS2, LS3, FCCA...) and I can't seem to find any. There are a bunch of CPNE posts and most are very encouraging! I really can't wait to get there. Join me and post your study plans for these exams, helpful tips, encouragements..! Personally, I've used StudyGroup101 for all other exams and as much as it was helpful, it was a little hard to follow or focus for it being sooooo dry!! Lately I have been actually learning much more from NRSNG Academy, I always pay for the practice exams and read NCLEX-RN comprehensive book. I'm planning on taking LS1 in May 2019, and during the summer I plan on finishing up LS2 and LS3, and FCCA as soon as I'm done with both. I need some more info on FCCA tho, I have no idea on what to expect. Oh, and I'm from Dallas, TX! Any study buddy? Post away, warriors!
