  1. Hi, I am just looking for some advice, I have my maternity clinical coming up and I am just wondering what to expect and if there are any dos/don'ts I should keep in mind. I am a good student and I have studied all the maternity material meticulously over the past 2 weeks and I also have a young son so I do have experience in caring for babies. That being said, I know that when I go to clinical it may be very different than I am expecting and I was hoping that someone could give me some general advice for the next few weeks. Thanks!!
  2. There is no such thing as "too much" studying. If you are getting good grades and this schedule works for you. I am like you, I have 3 semesters left in my program and I study constantly. I love school and studying isn't really a chore for me so I also tend to study more than my classmates. I also work and have a fiance and a son so I know what you mean when you say that you sometimes feel as if I am spending to much time on studying. However that being said, I believe that as long as your extra studying is not negatively impacting any other aspects of your life than it is not an issue.
  3. Thank you all for the tips!!
  4. I just finished my first semester of my ADN program and overall I did well. I enjoyed my clinical and did well on most of the tests. Only complaint is that I got my first A- in my college career (which I know is not the end of the world) so I am a little disappointed that my GPA went down to a 3.95 (had a 4.0 before). The thing that makes it so frustrating is that I missed the solid A by 0.25 of a point. I am looking forward to next semester though!
  5. Hi! I am currently a nursing student in an ADN program and I just finished my first semester. As some background, I plan on getting my BSN after graduating, my school has this "dual-enrollment" program where you can start your BSN the fall after you graduate and it is online. One of the requirements is that I need to take a statistics class. I am taking it over the winter break (online) and after attempting the first homework assignment I feel very overwhelmed. I am a good student (all A's) and I don't want this class to mess up my GPA. Generally I am good in math/science but I am worried about this class. I know I need to take it and I was just hoping that some fellow nursing students who have already taken it could give me some tips. I have looked up general tips online but I feel that other nursing students may have a perspective on this subject that will help me to better understand it. Thanks in advance!
