  1. For the US Navy its 47. I commissioned last year 8 days before my 39th birthday. Call a Healthcare recruiter and go from there.
  2. Well two days away from heading to Newport for ODS! See y'all in 5 weeks! Anyone else going to be there besides Bnwrn and myself?
  3. Awesome! I know there are two separate classes with one being active duty and the other being reserves. I'm sure we will cross paths. I currently don't have a billet yet, unable to use JO Apply until after ODS. There seems to be a general thought in my drill unit that I'll be dropped into one. Possible an EMF since the focus is building down range units. Im credentialed ED/Trauma.
  4. Hey everyone, Anyone heading to ODS in Oct? I am confirmed for 20 OCT class, the first one for reserve nurses to attend after eliminating DCOIC.
  5. My wife and I made it! My first and her 2nd time attending.
  6. Welcome to the fun game of hurry up and wait. I'm only a few steps ahead of you though (swore in in April). Good luck to you!
  7. I'm Reserves so I have to be gained by the NOSC and do indoc before I can apply. My first drill should be in June. I got credentialed 1945 ED-Trauma.
  8. I will be. I don't know witch it will be yet. I haven't had my first drill yet to apply. I personally would rather be in RI in Oct and not Feb but I'll do witch ever.
  9. Comdocs came in yesterday and I commissioned today!!!! Now to indoc and schedule ODS!
  10. The hurry up and wait is totally real.... I'm finishing up my 13th month in this process. Granted I had to had a surgery and 6 months post op wait but still lol. Anyway, I was just seeing if you had heard of anything. I am looking forward to ODS though. As strange as it may sound but I dig all of this and can't wait.
  11. Have you heard any info on scroll? last year around this time there was a back up but I haven't heard about this year.
  12. I am in NC as well and just got selected. There are four drilling locations in the state. If you'd like I could give you the name and number of my recruiter who is located in Durham. Send me a message if you'd like that info.
  13. I can understand your dilemma. Best advice I can give is make sure you are talking to an AMEDD recruiter and not an enlisted recruiter. They are different. Some key things you said are throwing big red flags. 1. Nurses commission and do not enlist. 2. They do not take the ASVAB 3. it takes months to get selected for the Nurse Corps. From what I am reading, your recruiter is pushing you to take an enlistment for probably something medical but it will not be nursing. To give you some back ground on myself, I was just selected for the Navy Reserves with an ED specialty (took me about a year but I had medical issues to work through that delayed me 6 months). I am 38 with no prior service. I believe the Army reserves allows entery til 41, Navy is 47, Air Force is 47 (I think) to include the Air National Guard. My advice would be to contact an officer recruiter for each branch you are interested in and ask some questions before you swear into something that isn't what you are looking for.
  14. My situation is a bit different in the reserves. I will have to schedule it myself after I go through indoc at the NOSC. After Sept this year DCOIC, the 2 week training is getting terminated and all DCOs will go to ODS. To many unanswered questions though on how is it going to look. Will it all be blended or continue to keep reserve and AD separate. I have 12 months from commissioning to complete the training. I honestly don't expect to go until after October and the new FY starts, but who knows. I'm just happy to get to go and be a part of it!
  15. Just got the call a couple of hours ago that I too was selected!
  16. Thank you and congrats to you as well. Since the Navy is eliminating DCOIC and moving everyone to ODS maybe I will get so see you there!
  17. I'm assuming your packet went for the February board? Is that correct? Mine did as well however I haven't heard from the OR if selected or not. Granted i'm applying for reserves and not AD.
  18. Congrats to everyone who has started, still work on, and painfully completed their packet. I myself have finally finished everything. Currently waiting for the January boards for the Navy Reserves (ER nurse). Its been a fun process and I have enjoyed reading about everyone's experience so far.
