Good luck to you Cowboy Medic and it is good news that Oklahoma will be getting a CRNA program! There will be a lot of applicants.

And to be clear as stated the only reason I reached out to peer advisor was because her email was only one that was a available on website my first email to you was returned. I also reached out to your student advisor who at the time was currently in CRNA school. I understand your concern, and it’s clear you have made your mind up about me based on what others have told you and your “Searches” but as I have stated everyone is innocent until proven guilty and I fought and won, and have NEVeR been guilty of any of the accusations brought up against me. I feel the whole conversation got off on the wrong foot, and there were to many assumptions which steered the conversation totally in the wrong direction. I see your point that you have to protect the CRNA profession, but I was not with or about any opposition. I wish things would of went different because after you have so much hate, discord and judgments thrown at you for so many years it’s gets old. Especially when you know the truth. Good luck to you as well, and again I 100% meant no harm.

It was you I spoke with, and yes there were a lot of questions that were asked, and I already knew the path to nursing because I started out this path, and was just a few classes shy of applying for nursing school. my end goal was CRNA, that is why my questions were geared towards that as for the legislative question they were asked because I wanted to do VA work to work with veterans but all the articles I found were negative about CRNAs and anesthesiologists in the VA. That is the only reason those questions were asked if you know what you want to end up as you might as well know the end goal, and if there were going to be a lot of those issues I didn’t want to deal with that. As for the group you are referring to as me shadowing I’m not sure who all is still there as I shadowed between 04-06. And the hospital would have the record of it as the patient had to sign the consent to let me watch his back surgery in the operating room. I was very disappointed in their approach to your questions about me and it only further fueled my thoughts about this role. The accusations were proven in a court of law to be false and I don’t think that someone should be judged by a accusation especially when they proved it to false. You have my email I would be more than happy To discuss further. I’m not one for publicly bashing someone and I have had enough of that as you can imagine. I mean no harm or hate towards you or anyone else, If you want to talk further about this please shoot me an email. I will not reach out to you given the circumstances. To wrap up, CRNA was a long time goal for me it started when I worked in hospital but life takes us all down several paths, mine was a winding path that eventually led me to the conclusion that i was not in a position to stop working and spend that much time away from my family to obtain this degree. I changed my major last year from medical to business and moved on. To each their own. We all have to figure out what’s best for us and our families. I decided CRNA was not in my future. Have a good day and I wish all the new potential CRNAs the best of Luck

I don’t wanna say, it was just an unprofessional response to my questions and that’s all I’m going to say. But it did help me really think about my career path moving forward. CRNA is tough path and you have to know that’s what you want! And after re-evaluating my thoughts on this, I decided it would be more difficult at this time in my life to pursue this career path.

That’s good! I have decided not to pursue this anymore. After speaking with a CRNA and other comments I have read about CRNAs who are unhappy with their jobs, It made me reevaluate if this is the career choice I wanted to go into. And after careful consideration of the amount of time it would take, time away from family, and the cost I decided it was not for me. So good luck to you in your Journey.

    NP Salaries

That would be awesome! I would like that schedule! And pay. Are you ACNP in Crtical care? I guess you have to be to do critical care?

    FNP Oversaturation

Does anyone see the CRNAs salary coming down as more are pumped out? I agree ifnyour doing nearly what the physicians are doing to make 1/2 of what they do doesn't seem in realistic! It's disheartening to see NPs taking jobs for 60-70 after getting advanced degree and more responsibility. But it would be nice to have good income and good work schedule without devoting all your time to work. I started out wanting to pursue CRNA, it would be difficult at this stage in my life to pursue but not impossible, I have worked with several Nps and that sparked my interest in oursueinf that route to do Emergency Medecine, and urgent care. Maybe even peds, but with all the doom and gloom on here about Nps sure makes me re consider.

    NP Salaries

So I'm interested in your emergency medicine (ER) is it with govt too? That's pretty sweet gig to only be able to work 1 or 2 days per week and make that kinda extra money. What all do you do in ER, are you just stuck with minor colds sprains and cuts? Or do you get to assist and do more serious cases? If I go the FNp route I am very interested in doing emergency medecine, and urgent care on side.

    NP Salaries

Interesting read here for NPs who are frustrated with pay. There are a lot of NPs coming out of school taking really low salaries just to get a job. Take a look at this article that explains what Some NPs are worth (salary) compared to what they bring in for revenue. How Much Revenue Does a Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Generate?

    OU Traditional BSN Fall 2016

I too found this thread and have been following your progressions, I have a question, OU is where I want to complete my BSN, I am a working husband/father with 2 boys, and was curious if any of you were able to work at all while doing the program or is it designed that you just have to focus on it full time?

    Emergency Nurse Practitioner (ENP) Autonomy

Thank you for the reply, I guess it will depend on where you work and the policies of the hospital. I would hope the ENP would be fully used to their training and not just seeing colds and cuts, etc, but definitely interests me if I pursue NP degree I think it would be in emergency medecine.

    Emergency Nurse Practitioner (ENP) Autonomy

I am curious as to their scope in ERs as well. I was looking into CRNA and ran across An article about a ENP (Emergency Nurse Practitioner) and it has perked my interest as I love the ER! Never many dull moments there. And if I went the NP route I think Emergency Medecine is where I would want to be. Especially if you get a good medical Drs, who love to teach!

    Employer paying off Student Loans?

Now that it's several years later are there any better deals out there with employers paying off student loans? I too am curious about this as I see myself having 100-150k in student loans by the time I finish one day. Docking away money but am curious if any employers are offering anything in paybacks in 2018
