Half-way through narcotic restrictionsOk
I've forgotten to check in twice. Both on Sundays, when I have church and family stuff going on. Both times, I emailed my case manager the following morning (after realizing I didn't check in the previous day) and explained what had happened. She was very kind, and just asked me to make sure it doesn't happen again. Not too big of a deal really. Don't stress!

So if your license is unencumbered, you shouldn't have any problem applying to NP school. You shouldn't have to inform them about your participation in a monitoring program until you begin clinicals.

So I'm in TPAPN and am also in NP school. I applied and got into school before I was in TPAPN though. As far as school goes though, I haven't had to inform them that I am in TPAPN because I am not yet in clinicals. My case manager told me that unless I was actively in clinicals, the school did not need to be informed of my participation in TPAPN. Therefore, TPAPN has caused no problems with my continued education towards becoming an NP.

Food/Products to avoid
Because I knew that I didn't consume alcohol, my positive test was sent for review by a medical review officer. He had me take a peth test which proved that I did not in fact drink alcohol. The "positive" test now shows up as a "non-negative, incidental exposure." If you were to get a false positive from the body spray you smell then just ask for a review and a peth test. It's a lot to go through, but it is good to know that there is a fall back for a false positive for alcohol!

I had a false positive for alcohol from sport spray sunscreen! Apparently, inhaling even a small amount while applying can cause a positive for alcohol. Stick with the rub-in sunscreens.

I know what different options test for!
So....anyone who is in TPAPN and tests at Quest Diagnostics, you know that they give you a COC form they print out. I can't believe I have never noticed this before, but the COC forms give you the test code! At the top left, where it says "Tests to be performed" there will be a code there. Well I looked up the code (out of curiosity, I am completely clean) and sure enough it was a quest code for a substance abuse panel! I usually only get option 1 or 4 but here it is! Option 4: Drug Abuse Panel 1

Me again! Timeframe question.
After speaking to my case manager following the initial paperwork, I actually asked her how long I had to complete the evaluation. She said that as long as I had it scheduled, she could work with whatever time frame the psychiatrist was able to fit me in. I was able to get an appointment within a few days though, but I'm sure your CM will be flexible as long as you have an appointment date set.
