  1. Have my interview set for 7/27 at 4pm! Anyone have their interview yet? How was it?
  2. Really depends on you! I'd say if you feel ready and confident about your skills, then go for it. Really, doing NCLEX practice questions just gets you into the habit of thinking critically and answering their questions; imo it's not really for anymore learning/content review. 60s-70s is generally a good score for Uworld, from what I heard!
  3. Honestly I wouldn't stress about missing 1 question. The better thing is that you clearly understand the concepts and can critically think about what actions to implement -- that's what you should be focusing on developing when you study for the NCLEX. I also used Uworld and Kaplan and I hated Kaplan rationales, so, at least for me, I chose to stick to what Uworld said rather than Kaplan.
  4. People have said that a non-passing level question would be something very "easy". For example: A newborn has blue extremities and a pink body. What is this expected finding called? A. hypothermia B. acrocyanosis C. shivering D. thermoregulation Passing level questions would be more along the lines of applying knowledge to a question and basing patient care based on that knowledge. That would be more like teaching questions, prioritization, etc... TBH, I used Kaplan as a study source and some of their non-passing questions were pretty hard imo. But I definitely think that higher level questions are application-centered vs. general recall of knowledge. So look for those kinds of questions!!
  5. Took my exam in August as well!! I think the Mark Klimek audio for maternity is great, so if you have problems in that area I highly suggest you check that out. Hone in on delegation, teaching, and prioritization. I also got a few procedures on mine, so make sure to brush up the correct steps to, lets say, put in a catheter. Good luck! Your studying will pay off very soon!!!
  6. I think Saunders is pretty comprehensive if you want to refresh your content. Uworld is definitely to work on critical thinking and even content to some degree! If you can't really read for very long, try watching some of RegisteredNurseRN's videos on youtube! I listened to them before I went to bed and I found her videos to be helpful (plus they're free!!)
  7. focus on understanding uworld rationales! i reviewed all my uworld questions, regardless if i got them wrong or not and I think that really helped. good luck!!
  8. good luck!! and yeah i feel you. i walked out of there feeling like that was the weirdest test ever. i couldn't tell if i was passing or not, and i felt like i had basically no SATAs. but i did the pvt trick, got the good pop up consistently, and learned yesterday that i passed!!
  9. The popup that you got is the "good popup". A lot of people say to try again after 24 hours as it is "more accurate" since it's been graded twice (by the computer and a human), during which the message may change. I did the PVT trick after I got the email that I finished my exam. I got the good popup. Throughout the span of 48 hours after that I kept on getting the good popup. I put in wrong credit card info. Today I found out that I passed!
  10. Did the PVT trick after getting the email saying I took the test (8/6). Got the good pop up and proceeded to do it multiple times for 2 days before getting my quick results. Passed!
  11. I took my NCLEX yesterday (Aug 6), and all the experimental questions were a case study format. You were given 1 patient with a PMH, vitals, and a set of labs for several questions. The question formats varied from question to question, but it did seem like it was more SATA like vs. multiple choice. It was...interesting... but I can see why NCSBN would want to go in that direction! It seemed more like something you would do in the hospital (ie. looking at the patient as a whole and determining priorities).
  12. Try listening to Mark Klimek's lecture about psych drugs (I think it's the 12th one)! A link should be in reddit somewhere under r/studentnurse. The lectures are a little outdated, but I still found them extremely helpful in a lot of my practice questions in Uworld so far.
  13. Hi all! Long time lurker here! I recently graduated my nursing program (in May) and I'm planning to take my NCLEX August 6th! My school came with the Kaplan bundle with 3 CAT tests, but during the last few weeks I've been doing UWorld religiously since so many people recommended it (and I like their rationales better). For funsies, I decided to take a break from Uworld and see how I would do against Kaplan's CAT test last week. I took the 1st CAT test and it shut off at 110 questions with the overall in green. I said to myself "not bad but need more practice" so I went to take a ton more Uworld. This past week I took the 2nd CAT test, hoping to get near 75 questions. It shut off at 216 questions instead! I was blown away and devastated. However, I looked at the overall and it was still green. So my question is: how reliable/similar is Kaplan's CAT to NCLEXs CAT? Anyone else experience this? When I do practice tests from both Uworld and Kaplan, I seem to be doing ok (getting 60's, sometimes even 70's). IDK, this last CAT was just a major blow to my confidence. (PS - yes I know I should be expecting the full 265, but who doesn't want to pass in 75?)
