When awarded (?!!!), I would contact your program to find out how much ORC is typically disbursed since cost of books and clinical supplies etc. may vary greatly across programs.

I think a lot of drops after financial aid is released means, once people receive acceptances and their financial aid packages, some (many?) people will decline their offers due to the high price tag, freeing up more spots and opening up the waitlist. Oh the cost of private education ?

Assistant Dean of Enrollment, not a specialty.

Not to throw in any new ideas into the mix - I was emailing back and forth with one of the assistant deans a couple days ago and was told we will receive a decision on Feb 16-17. I personally don't have my hopes up for a decision today or tomorrow but just want to pass this along... Stay positive and keep yourself busy! ?

I'm choosing between Yale, Columbia, and awaiting a decision from Vandy. The 2-year program is veryyyy appealing (potential earnings 1-2 years sooner than other programs) but it also concerns me quite honestly. Is the clinical experience of 1 specialty year sufficient to prepare APRNs? Hopefully! Are there any Vandy grads who could speak to this in terms of their preparedness and ease with transitioning to the NP role?

I think it's pretty safe to assume that they'll continue raising tuition each year (though other schools like Columbia have made mention of the fact that they may raise tuition each year too). Good luck with your decision and soul searching. Hopefully you've had a chance to connect with seasoned NPs and fresh NP grads to get some perspective about what to prioritize (and would love to hear your thoughts on this!) @Lmt2019 I'm pretty sure the scholarship is per year. I spoke to Dr. Korvac about this a couple weeks ago, but def best to confirm with him directly! @hogwarts2020 and @ChocolateTherapy - call them re:financial aid email! They should still be open. New admits days are Jan 25th and Feb 8th, from 8am- 2pm. Planning to go on Feb 8th.

Congrats to everyone! I’m so beyond thrilled and grateful to have received good news this week! I really appreciate everyone sharing their insights and couragement throughout this process. I just received an email from YSN Financial Aid- no scholarship/gift for me. It also looks like their tuition is climbing at a steady rate per. Does anyone know if there’s a way to appeal a financial aid decision? The price tag as it stands is simply not feasible for me. Of course I’m looking into other funding options like private’s scholarships (nothing that will amount to $60,000/year ?) and plan to apply to Nurse Corps, but I don’t think we’d be informed about an award prior to when I’d need to make a decision about enrolling, not to mention it’s pretty hard to get! I feel you with not wanting to pay for more courses! I plan to take a credit-for-exam for Statistics at Excelsior College which I verified in advance with CU nursing admissions. I would advise doing the same for a nutrition course (and get the approval in writing!)

Does anyone know a)how many applications they received this year for MDE and the FNP-specialty? b)when the admitted students day will be held this year and it's worth traveling to? (fingers crossed!)

(I would imagine that the answer is likely no but....!) does anyone know if is possible to re-record the video essay? I got confused between the "practice" and actual video recording that counts, and thought I had more attempts but turns out I didn't :). I'm not sure what to do because I realized midway, and then completely messed up the rest of it :). Any suggestions would be appreciated! @emilianany I attended a virtual open house a few months ago and I agree it was very informative.
