  1. Hi Ella! Thanks again for all your helpful answers so far. I am wondering if you could share about how much you’ve been spending on textbooks so far? Do you feel that we can get away renting most books or is it worth the investment to purchase them? Thanks!!
  2. I also got a scholarship email! Does anyone happen to know when we would hear about federal loans? I submitted the FAFSA in December, and I’m hoping we will have a full idea of financing the program before we have to officially accept. Thanks!!
  3. I was accepted for PNP and didn’t get any scholarship/aid info!
  4. I wish they would send an email giving a more specific time frame for decisions! This wait is killing me! Fingers crossed for Friday.
  5. Hi! I also took 2 of the prerequisites in the fall, and sent my updated transcript in late December. I didn't call to confirm that they received them, but I did upload an unofficial copy of the transcript to my application page just in case. Like you though, my application checklist never changed to reflect the additional transcript. I wouldn't worry too much about it - if they confirmed that they received it then I'm sure they documented it somewhere!
  6. Same! I called and asked yesterday, but didn’t get anything more specific than “late January/early February” I think last year’s cohort heard around this week so hopefully we hear soon!
  7. On past years' threads, there have been mentions of emails from the school during the waiting period... has anyone received anything from BC? I am hoping that they will be releasing decisions within the next couple of weeks, but find it strange that I haven't heard from them at all!
  8. Does anyone happen to know what the breakdown is of speciality applications that BC receives/accepts? Is the cohort of ~40 evenly distributed among specialties? I didn't get the opportunity to attend an information session as I am from the west coast, and am wondering if this is something that they ever mentioned. Thanks!
  9. When are you all planning on submitting your FAFSA? This fall or after being (hopefully) accepted?
  10. This is great info, thanks so much! Sorry for yet another question for y'all (more and more keep popping into my head!) ... does anyone know if there is an admitted students day type event/weekend following acceptances or on which weekend that typically falls? I would LOVE to chat with current students about their experiences and that would be an opportunity that I wouldn't want to miss!
  11. So helpful - thanks for relaying this email. I'm applying for PNP track and BC is my #1 choice! I've only visiting Boston a few times...is anyone planning on having a car while there if accepted? I am hoping that I would be able to get by on public transportation/ride shares, but am curious what other students will be doing.
  12. I am applying as well! Interesting about the DNP... that would be great if we could somehow bridge to the DNP (if accepted) like meilia said. Thanks for starting the thread this year. :)
  13. Hello! I will also be applying for the fall semester. I am planning on taking the GRE, mainly because I'm applying to a couple of other schools that require it. I know that they don't look too heavily at the GRE scores though, so I wouldn't worry about it if you aren't planning on taking it!
  14. Hi all! Hard to believe that the application opens tomorrow (!!!) Question regarding finances... If you all were to be accepted, how are you planning to pay for tuition, rent in SF, books, travel, etc.?? I am going to be completely independent and responsible for all costs with no parental or spousal support, and I'm starting to get really anxious about the costs as the application process gets closer. Does anyone know about how much federal aid will cover for tuition and/or how much you can take out on loan for living expenses? Excited to start the app tomorrow! Wishing everyone positive thoughts as y'all begin too!
  15. Hello all! Is anyone else on here getting ready to apply for direct-entry programs to start in fall 2019? I am a recent college grad from a school that didn't offer a nursing track and am so anxious/excited to start applying! I'm not positive which programs that I am applying to and would love advice or suggestions for programs to look into. So far, I am most drawn to USD, JHU, and Penn... I am also currently struggling to decide if a direct-NP or nurse generalist (MSN, RN) program is best...do any current or past direct-entry students have any pros and cons to share from their experiences? I think having RN experience before going into NP would be really helpful, but I worry that having to go back to school again after settling into a career as an RN would be really difficult. I am so excited to start the application process so soon!!!
