I'm supposed to hear back the week of the 29th, so this week. I'm fairly confident, but one part of my application has me nervous. Acceptance to this program is based off a point system. This includes grades in the pre-requisites, prior work experience in the medical field, place of residence, TEAS test results, and if you have a previously earned degree. My overall gpa is a 3.89, however just looking at my pre-requisites it's a 4.0. I was also a medic in the army. And I live in the city where the program is. I don't have any prior degrees, but I'm really worried about my teas test results. The minimum score that they take is the national average which is 69, and I got a 79 but I'm still worried that it's too low. There's usually about 150 applicants, but only 35 spots so I'm starting to get really worried. And I know the post office isn't open tomorrow so I know the soonest I'll find out is Tuesday and it's driving me crazy.

I see this question asked a lot and I'm always a bit confused. Does the nursing program where you are attempting to get into look at overall gpa or just the grades in the prerequisites. I've been to two community colleges (I had to move cities, but both still in CO) and the nursing program at both colleges based acceptance into the program on the prerequisite grades, not overall GPA. Look into the requirements and talk to an advisor. I doubt there were many overlapping classes for music and nursing. You'll probably have to start from scratch and take mostly all new classes

Congratulations! I finished mine this semester as well with all A's. I find out next week of o got accepted or not. When do you find out? Do you mind if I ask what all your prerequisites were? Also was your point system only off of grades or did they give points for other things? My prerequisites were Eng 121, Developmental Psych, A&P I & II, microbiology, and the CNA course. But that's for an ADN. I know for my BSN I'll have to take chemistry.

At my school the A&Ps are prerequisites for micro. I really didn't see much of a correlation between the two (I didn't feel that the A&Ps were necessary for micro) But the A&Ps were significantly harder than micro. I'd take the harder ones first just to get them out the way of you have the choice.

Nutrition and stats are both easy so I'd get those out of the way first. I never had to take intro to bio but I've heard it wasn't easy so maybe match that one with those two. I took A&P I & II together and would not recommend it unless you believe you have the ability to ace them. I was the only person out of a dozen or so that started in both, to remain in both. Every other person dropped II because it was too much. But I also didn't have to work while taking the classes so I had that to my advantage. If you do decide to take them together remember it's not just two classes, but four because of the lab. Micro was easy in comparison to those two so if you want to pair two bios together I'd do it with micro. I haven't taken chem so no advice their. Good luck!

I took both A&P together in the fall and I got A's in both but it was hard. I just finished micro this spring and also got an A but micro was really easy in my opinion. I think if you struggled taking the other two separately then it's probably not the best idea. Especially considering each of those classes also has a lab.

I didn't take micro with any other science class but I did take A&P I and A&P II together and I got A's in both with lots of work. I just finished micro this past semester and got an A with honestly no work at all. It was quite easy. So I guess if you had to take two sciences together I would recomend one of them being micro. I'm not sure about pathophysioligy, I will be starting that class next week.
