  1. You are literally the best ever! Thank you so much for taking the time to help us all out! I so appreciate your help!
  2. Hi Maya! From the latest info I received, the labs will be on campus while the lectures will be held online. Also, I believe that track 2 transfer students begin clinical their second semester and track 1 transfer students begin clinical their third semester. Hope that helps!
  3. Hi all! I’m so happy to have found this thread! My name is Sofi and I got placed into track 2 after transferring from my CC! I’m so excited to start classes this fall, even if it looks a little different than we had hoped for ? Have a nice rest of your Summer!
  4. Thank you for the advice! I do believe I can handle the load so thanks for the encouragement!
  5. Thank you! Those are the exact classes I am planning on taking this fall: general biology, general chemistry, and anatomy! Thanks for your advice!
  6. I think the most important thing in this situation is your health as well as your baby's. As others have stated here, I think it would be advisable to consider taking time off from nursing school. Heading into a busy semester of nursing school with a newborn is no easy feat. Only you know if this is something you can handle, but for many people this situation would be very stressful. Stress that could take a toll on your health. I think it's also important to remember that those precious first weeks with your baby would be clouded by classes, clinicals, and studying. You would have to decide if this is something you want. I completely understand how you feel that you have worked so hard to get where you are and don't want to give it up. However, you are still early in your nursing school journey and taking a break now would be far easier than waiting to take a break later into the program. Even if your school wouldn't allow you to take a break, you could always reapply to nursing school and you would only have to repeat one course. Your hard work to get where you are today wouldn't go away since you could still use any prerequisite classes you have taken to apply to nursing school. I hope this helped you and I truly wish you and your baby the best! You are so strong and courageous for heading into this journey! Only you know what is best for you and your family! Best of luck!
  7. Hi Anyn! I am in a similar situation! I will finish my nursing prereqs in the Spring of 2019. The program I will be applying for is CSU San Marcos. This program DOES allow prereqs to still be in progress at the time of application. I will be applying for acceptance into the Fall 2019 program. I would recommend looking into CSU San Marcos Nursing website as they are very organized and clear about all requirements. Specifically, I would recommend you look at their "Application Deadlines" page as it clearly lays out the entire application process. I have attended this University this year and have enjoyed my time there so far! The program is greatly impacted but it never hurts to apply! Hope this helped and good luck with the whole application process! I know it can be quite stressful!
  8. I'm not sure where the stigma comes from that it should be avoided because it's almost necessary if you want to finish on time. Yes! Thank you! My advisors keep telling me to take them separately but unless I stay at the CC for another year, I don't have that choice. It's been so reassuring to hear of other students who have taken these classes together and succeeded so thank you!
  9. Thanks for responding! Memorization doesn't come easy for me. I learn better through understanding concepts and processes as opposed to memorizing facts. I'll just have to work harder in anatomy. Thanks for the tips!
  10. Thanks for the tips! Just wondering, did you have to work while taking these classes? I have a part-time job where I only have to work about ten hours a week.
  11. Thanks for responding! It's been reassuring to hear that many people have succeeded at taking these classes together! I commend you for your hard work!
  12. This past semester I took a chemistry lab course at my University. It was fairly easy and did not require hardly any additional preparation or studying. Next semester I plan on taking Anatomy at my CC. Will the anatomy lab require additional studying or will it cover material from lectures? What does an anatomy lab typically look like? Any tips or recommendations for this class would be greatly appreciated! (At my CC anatomy and physiology are separate semester long classes)
  13. Did you take any other classes that semester? Thanks for responding! My advisor told me that most students who take microbiology with physiology either end up failing one or dropping one, so it's nice to hear that you got A's in both. I plan on dedicating plenty of time to these two classes and only adding on an online writing class that semester!
  14. I'm planning on taking microbiology and physiology in the same semester. Has anyone done this? Is the amount of studying required doable? What did your study schedule look like? Any tips or recommendations would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
