  1. I'm leaning towards declining my CEP acceptance and just spend my time focusing on the traditional ADN program. Anyone else in the same boat? Or have decided to take the risk and go for the CEP pathway? Would love to hear everyone's thoughts on it. Thanks! ?
  2. Did anyone who received traditional ADN acceptance notifications on Tuesday, also received the CEP pathway admission? I'm wondering if there's still spots left for the "GWC-CSUSB CEP RN Program" pathway or if all the seats have been filled. I remember calling and asking about the CEP pathway a few months ago and the lady said they're offering around 20 spots. Any updates? Thank you!
  3. When is the orientation for Fall 2023 cohort?
  4. The relevant nursing coursework would be classes such as "pharmacology, lifecycle, psychology, math, communication studies" and you need to have work experience along with your license in order to get points. According to the website, the last application cycle the point cut off was at 82 points for those who got in, and 77-80 points for alternates. Take a look at Saddleback's website and click on the nursing page. It gives you all the information you're looking for. The next application cycle is Feb 2023. I recommend you go over your transcripts with a counselor to see what points you'll get and to make sure everything is accurate. Some students may have to fill out a course equivalency form or course substitute form. Good luck on your journey! ?
  5. After a long and careful decision, I have decided to give up my spot in the program and go with a different school that better suits my needs. So whoever is ranked next on the alternate list, you will be offered admission. ?
  6. I got the same email, but I'm feeling skeptical of their program. So I might go with another school that accepted me already.
  7. First day of school is Monday, January 30th, 2023.
  8. I mean technically you can still accept their acceptance offer (deadline to accept or reject is today), but just lag on uploading the required documents such as titers, vaccines, etc. That could buy you some time until you hear back from other schools. If you hear back from other schools before the mandatory orientation, you can tell them you're not going forward with their program and an alternate candidate can take your place. End of the day, it's up to you on what you want to do with your acceptance from GWC.
  9. Yes, everyone should have received an email back. Friday, September 23rd is the last day to respond back indicating you are accepting or declining your admission.
  10. The online class is only for the first 8 weeks of the first semester. I highly recommend taking a look at the latest GWC class schedule and reviewing the GWC nursing handbook to get familiar with the program.
  11. To my best knowledge this is usually how it goes: Monday 8AM - 2PM are for NEST demonstrations, skills assessments, and simulations. Tuesday 8AM - 12:55PM are for lectures, group activities, case studies, student presentations, and exams. Then later in the day there's an online class from 5PM - 7:05PM. Clinicals start the 7th week of the first semester. Your clinical day can vary depending on where they place you for clinicals.
  12. Hi there! Maybe I can help. Unfortunately, GWC doesn't necessarily have a specific partnership with any ADN-BSN program to simultaneously take BSN courses during your ADN program like Riverside City College does with CSUF and CSUSB. But to my knowledge schools such as CSULB, CSUF (Fullerton, not Fresno) and CSUDH offer some classes you can take in the Summer to get a head start on your BSN classes. But beware that you will have to pay out of pocket for these courses and financial aid doesn't typically cover Summer classes as you will be a student through open university and not an official CSU student. At CSULB it's called the ADN-BSN Summer Step Up Bridge Program, at CSUF it's called Jump Start Program, and at CSUDH it's called Summer Fast Track Program. Look at the each school's website for more detailed information about the program. A side note, you can earn a Public Health Nurse certificate if you enroll at a CSU RN-BSN program and complete the required 90 clinical hours at a public health setting. On average it can take you about a year to complete a RN-BSN program depending on the school and how many classes you take each semester. One school in particular called Capella University allows you to complete your RN-BSN online as quick as 3 months though their flexpath program. Other schools that are a popular option would be Grand Canyon University, Ohio University, and University of Texas at Arlington. Lastly, if you want to take BSN courses during the same time as you take ADN courses look into ASU's co-enrollment online RN- BSN program, but beware as they quoted me $23K which is a ridiculous amount of money for an online RN-BSN Program as the usual tuition for this kind of degree is under $10K at other universities. IMO it's best if you have your employer pay for your BSN through tuition reimbursement once you become an RN. I hope this gave you some guidance or clarity. Best wishes on your nursing journey!
  13. Hey everyone! I'm in the same boat, got accepted into both programs and have a hard time picking which one to go with. GWC is way closer to me, but Saddleback's curriculum and higher NCLEX pass rate is appealing.
  14. Results were sent out today! I got accepted!!
  15. Hello, first-time applicant here! I submitted my application today for the RN program. According to the confirmation email, it says selections will be made in 6-8 weeks. Is that to let us know if we moved on to the next round for further screening or is it to notify the final candidates? Thanks!
  16. Hey there! I applied with 82 points. I'm a first-time applicant, and I hope I get accepted into at least one RN program this cycle. Best wishes to everyone! - AA = 2 pts - CNA + Work Experience = 15 pts - Science GPA = 20 pts - Revelevant Nursing Coursework = 20 pts - Life Experience = 3 pts - 2nd Language Proficiency = 2pts - TEAS = 20 pts *Disclaimer, you only get 2 points no matter how many AA degrees you have.
  17. It seems like every cohort/application cycle has one of these pages. I wanted to start a new thread for the Spring 2023 cycle so we can keep each other updated during the application period and ask questions. Best wishes to everyone applying!
  18. GWC only accepts the first passing score of 62% or higher of version 6 ATI TEAS. Scores don't expire unless a school is requiring a newer version of the ATI TEAS Test.
  19. @RachelRachel If I remember correctly, the application period for Spring 2022 opened July 1st and the last day was July 9th.
  20. If you maxed out your points for every category, the next best option is to work on raising your science GPA which will dramatically boost your overall points if you do well in them.
  21. Congratulations on yall's acceptance! Did anyone take the ATI TEAS offered by GWC? If so, how did that go?
  22. Well if you took the time and look at last semester’s (Spring 2020) thread, it shows someone with 76 points and above got admitted. For alternates that were accepted, they never really mentioned how many points they had. I think the deciding factor for alternates was around 76 points or so and below. Couple people said they had 76 points and were admitted while others with same points were alternates (with position number) and even alternate pool. Every cohort is different, so the applicant pool varies. You mentioned earlier that you’re applying with 85 points, you should technically be in the safe zone/admitted. You can see a pattern forming if you do the math. Considering looking at threads from the past several years, talking to admitted people about their points, and such. Good luck!
  23. Hello Everyone! ? I will be taking Intro to Chemistry (introduction to some of the basic principles of inorganic, organic and biochemistry) AND I will be taking Human Physiology. 1) I have NEVER taken chem before, not even in high school. Any tips to pass chem? 2) What should I review from human anatomy to help with physiology? Any tips to pass physiology? Please comment below your favorite study techniques/tips, and what type of learner are you? *I'm a visual learner ?
  24. Hello Everybody! Should I retake Human Anatomy for the 3rd time in 8 weeks in the summer or should I retake it in Fall 2019 semester (16 weeks) along with Microbiology (never took micro before)? I'll be taking the TEAS Test in either Dec 2019 or Jan 2020. So that means I need to study for the TEAS by the end of May/beginning of June of 2019. Summer Pros: Taking the class by itself in summer, good professor, no cadavers, and I have previous videos/notes/study guides/lecture recording from my previous original professor/class. Summer Cons: 8 weeks, the school is about 25-30 mins away. Thank you for any help you can provide! ?
