  1. I've worked LTC, oncology, med surg and detox. I worked psych for 7 yrs in an emergency room setting. The stories I could tell! I currently work as a hospice nurse. My "job" is really a calling - a ministry of sorts. The miracles I've seen - would likely be called coincidences by a majority of people. OH - the stories I could tell!
  2. I got into it for the money - i've been a nurse for 15 yrs - a hospice nurse for the last 5 - now i know no-one goes to heaven pulling a u-haul - i'm in it for the difference i may make to another
  3. An LVN w/16 yrs L&D experience was in our nrsg class. She failed in the last rotation. Guess what she did - she went to another school and eventually got her MSN.
  4. I am 54yo. I remember when they would take women on welfare and put them into school for LVN here in TX. I got my RN 15 yrs ago. My suggestion is to apply to all schools in yr area (ie, LVN/RN diploma, AD, BSN) then you R not putting yr eggs in one basket. If the LVN school takes you go -then work a yr and take a mobility class to become an RN. The stress of getting into nrsg school is stressful - but it prepares you for the school itself which is no cakewalk. Good luck.
