I am 54yo. I remember when they would take women on welfare and put them into school for LVN here in TX. I got my RN 15 yrs ago. My suggestion is to apply to all schools in yr area (ie, LVN/RN diploma, AD, BSN) then you R not putting yr eggs in one basket. If the LVN school takes you go -then work a yr and take a mobility class to become an RN. The stress of getting into nrsg school is stressful - but it prepares you for the school itself which is no cakewalk. Good luck.
