I got an interview, but have already accepted a seat elsewhere/will be declining. The invite said we have until 10/15 to accept the interview and pick a time slot on a first come first serve basis. Interviews are scheduled for 10/24. Perhaps they will send more out after the 10/15 cut off. Best of luck to everyone!

Our acceptances went out Friday for TCU. I just wrote to withdraw my interview, so im sure there will be more openings!

I would reach out to the program. I am a research fellow, and asked if I could leverage my research experience in lieu of taking stats again, but 8 years was apparently a lot for them and it was suggested it would more than likely get denied.

My stats are very similar and I've already received invitations to 2/3 of the schools I've applied to this far. Cum: 3.57 last 60: 3.8 Science: 3.72 I have about 6.5 years of experience. I started in a multi specialty level 2 trauma ICU that did Neuro/CV/Trauma. I've also done about a year of travel nursing in a MICU and another multi specialty level 1 ICU. I work in a Surgical ICU currently at a big academic center where I am a charge nurse, preceptor and currently am the PI for a research study about one of our patient populations. I am a member of our unit's quality improvement committee which is between nursing and providers about improving our patient outcomes. I'm a member of the nurse practice council. All this to say, I truly believe that schools look at the holistic applicant. I'm not who I was at 18, working full time and getting Cs because I couldn't handle my time management, and I'm sure you're not either!

I believe they are sending invites by the 19th. If past years are any point of reference, they usually send them on the last day in the late afternoon.

I'm applying! I'll have ~18h of shadowing, I regularly volunteer for the local food bank. Cum GPA 3.6 Science GPA 3.7 Last 60h GPA 3.8 GRE verbal 163/quant 154/writing 4 I have a mixed background of 5y ICU, mainly SICU but I've also done STICU(trauma, neuro and cv) and MICU when traveling. I charge and precept, and am the PI for a research study for one of our patient populations. Good luck to everyone. :)

Hi! I've worked at UTSW for ~4 years in one of their ICUs. Our pay is lower than some other hospitals but we have really good benefits. I also did some travel nursing in the area a few years ago, and having seen first hand the state of some of their ICUs, it's a fair trade off. Our CVICU has a decent turnover rate, but a lot of that is d/t degree progression (which is the same for my unit). There are a lot of personalities in the CV but I hear the team morale has gotten a lot better. I don't know anything about their shifts being offered, a couple of years ago they were hiring for days but that's probably changed. We don't really have PCUs here but some tele floors take PC patients and have a decreased patient assignment if they have a PC patient, if that makes sense. Our cardiac tele floors are 9G, I want to say 9O and 10G but don't quote me on that.

Thanks! I'm excited to be done. I got to do clinicals at Methodist Charlton and Dallas, Children's in Dallas, Texas Harris and UTSW. All of my friends had no prior experience, but I'm sure there are LVNs in the program.

Thanks for offering yourself as a resource! I was just curious about CRNA school with a family; is it doable? Do you have any free time for your loved ones, or is it as bad as they say? Also, how much experience would you recommend a new grad get before applying to a CRNA program? I just accepted a SICU position, and was planning to spend at least 3 years there.

May 2018 UTA grad here, it's a great program and I wish you the best of luck. Side note; if anyone needs XS/S scrubs for the program, I have some.
