  1. I graduated from Drexel University's ABSN back in September, and took NCLEX just before thanksgiving (passed--woohoo!). During that lag time between graduating the first week of September and sitting for NCLEX i was applying to jobs like a mad-woman. All came back as rejections. I assumed that once I sat for my exam, THEN i would have better luck because they would see that I'm an RN now. The difficulty I am having is that (with inside knowledge from friends that already have jobs at some of the philly hospitals) Penn hardly hires from their online listings... most openings are known about through word of mouth, and referrals. Jefferson doesn't seem to have ANY new grad positions available (all require at least 1 year of experience) and it's been said that they hire their own grads first then Drexel grads. However, the only Drexel people that i've known to get jobs there did their clinicals there during the last few months of school and so had connections from that. I feel as though I'm pretty out of the loop with no experience, no inside connections that could be truly viable, and apparently no hope from online listings... Any suggestions on how to find new grad positions / get my foot in the door for at least an interview?
  2. Is there any way to know sooner than to wait for snail mail? I'll be away from home next week and will probably die from sheer anticipation if I have to wait any longer. Maybe they'll update the application status page(?)
  3. I contacted the admissions person for the program and she told me the same that it says online... about 8wks after application deadline, so closer to March 12th we should hear back.
  4. If you haven't gotten an interview email by now... does that mean rejection? It said in the email first round of interview dates will be sent BY Feb 13th, up until the interview dates themselves... slightly confused / worried / bummed.
  5. Mine is still just as "submitted" and I haven't received any emails from them yet :/
  6. I don't know if it's still relevant, but I personally didn't apply until just before New Year's and just heard back (accepted!), had to check the status page as they didn't send any email notification
  7. Hi all, currently new to the allnurses forum but am glad to be able to bounce off ideas/thoughts with people in the same situation. I have applied to about 5 schools and MUSC is definitely one of my top choices, but I'm curious about my chances of getting in. I've looked at previous threads and it looks like there's some sort of online "counter" where you can see the total application pool #, how many have been accepted, how many are in review, etc. Has anyone in this application cohort seen anything online that sounds like that?
