  1. Has anyone used either of these two services to start your own aesthetic nursing practice? Pros/Cons? Any other services or companies that are better suited for aesthetic nurses?
  2. Meant to say it shouldn't be your last try! Please accept my request
  3. I also got in! Congratulations to my fellow classmates! For those that did not get in this time, DO NOT give up! This wasn't my first try and it shouldn't be yours either!
  4. I don't think parents bring their kids to a hospital for fun. Stuff happens. Let it go. I would not want to bring my kid to work but if I had no other choice...I would.
  5. I am hoping to apply next fall actually. I am in AP2 right now and will take micro next term. Hope you get your acceptance letters fast. I am really excited for you. Good luck.
  6. Message me! I am in the same boat!
  7. I am 38 turning 39 here I feel like I am reaching for the stars but I am so tired of settling. I want more out of my life. Anyway, don't you think it would save us time if we just did the 3 year BSN?
  8. I can take 24 credits (I have 16 already) and get into a 3 year BSN program with Chamberlain. OR I can take one year's worth of pre-req's and apply to get into the local community college's ADN program. The latter is obviously cheaper. Which would you do and why?
  9. WOW! This is amazing and inspirational!
  10. I think you are overwhelming yourself. Take a step back, talk to an academic adviser and remind yourself continuously that there are no shortcuts. It will take some time, lots of work but there is no reason on earth you cannot do this. Nobody is born knowing math...they are taught. You will do the same...you will learn. I strongly suggest you take one step at a time, not give up and always remember that if millions of people can do this...so can you.
  11. ...do I need to start volunteering at hospitals? Will that better my chances? Application won't be submitted for almost another year.
  12. I used to be shy and extremely awkward. Oh goodness the things I have said and done in my moments awkward shyness. This was in my 20's and even early 30's. Somewhere along the way, I noticed that the people who want something simply want it. Being shy or not shy is like a state of mind for them and I learned a lot from that realization. Someone may look at me funny once, twice, even three times if I goof up but then I will learn and that will be it. I have been the "only" in many situations: only female staff member, only South Asian, etc. etc. etc. If you want this, its yours. Literally, no one can stop you. And always remember: everyone started out where you are.
  13. We are not the same age. I started my first college level course after being out of school for 20 years in February. I am 38, married, have a 3 year old and majority of the people in my class could easily have been my kids as well. But today's generation is not just smart but also more sensitive to diversity is what I am finding. All the "kids" in my classes are so sweet. They don't treat me differently and I do not stand out like a sore thumb like I thought I might. There are other "adult'" learners in my class who are also re-starting their careers...all medicine related. My advice: Have no regrets! Live your life again! Isn't it amazing that you have that option? Do what it takes to fulfill your dreams so you never ask yourself..."what if I had done..." Besides, its just the first day when you have some anxiety. After that, you're too busy with schoolwork to notice anything else.
  14. Right now, I am completing my pre-nursing courses at a community college. The tuition is super cheap and I am not paying anything out of pocket as the Pell was able to cover everything. We are not high earners and we also have a small child. My husband wants to buy a home and not rent anymore. It wouldn't be our dream house, just a small starter home but it would obviously be an asset. We don't have the money to put down right now so we would apply for a SETH grant. Husband wants to avoid paying rent. Is this a good move financially? I don't know about it because if I lose my aid due to owning a home, I don't want to do it right now. I am avoiding student loans this way and I'd prefer to avoid them for as long as possible.
  15. Anyone else applying in 2019?
