NCLEX June 2020, 60 questions
Late to this thread, but I just took the NCLEX today! I finished super quickly (I've always been a fast test taker) and had 60 questions. I felt okay walking about but really had no idea where I stand ? I just did the PVT and got the "good" pop up, so I'm hoping it's accurate! Going to be a long 48 hours but happy to not have to worry about the NCLEX for the time being.

Dell Children's Nurse Residency July 2020
Sorry for the late response. After I submitted my first application, they e-mailed me a link with a username and password to check my app status!

Congratulations!!! What unit? My application still says "under review." I am an out-of-state student though and did not attend the open house, so I'm not very optimistic about it...I knew chances were slim prior to applying anyway! But we'll see I guess!

JHU Fall 2018 MSN Entry into Nursing
After some thinking, I've decided to go elsewhere. I've already submitted my deposit back in December, but I emailed them just now after hearing of an acceptance to a different school. This has been SUCH a hard decision for me, but I wish everyone the best of luck. JHU is an incredible school, and it makes me sad I won't be attending. Good luck to everyone, and hopefully some spots on the waitlist will open up. (I've read in the FB group of a few others in a similar situation). Congrats everyone!!!! :)

I made a Facebook group called "UMSON CNL FALL 2018" FYI!

Double check your email. They sent me an email saying I wasn't accepted then 5 minutes later they sent another one saying the e-mail was sent to the wrong recipients and to disregard it.... what an error haha

GREs were optional for JHU - recommended but not required. I'm in the same boat....really struggling between JHU and UMD...but a good problem to have! Congrats to everyone who has been accepted and good luck to everyone else who is waiting. :)

Also, I was just told that decisions for non-admitted applicants will also begin to be released this week and will continue throughout March and April. They'll receive an email instead than a physical letter in the mail. That decision will also be reflected in SURFS. Sooo, good luck everyone!

You have to fill out the FAFSA form. On UMSON's website it says that students should complete the FAFSA after January 1 and before February 28 every year to meet UMB's award priority deadline of March 1. Here is the link, which also has more aid/scholarship information: Financial Aid and Scholarships | University of Maryland School of Nursing There are some contacts listed, so you could reach out to someone if you needed assistance, or had any questions.

Aapage87, which is your first choice school? I replied back asking if we were not accepted to the program and when those decisions would be released by.

I emailed admissions and asked again when we can expect to hear a decision. They said that the Admissions Committee will begin releasing decisions this week and that they will be releasing decisions on a rolling admissions basis throughout March and April. She also noted that the admissions decision would be released in SURFS first (where we completed our application), so logging into SURFS will allow you to see the Admissions decision prior to receiving the letter. She did not specify what would happen if we didn't get in, but hope this helps!

UMD CNL FALL 2018
No... tomorrow will be 4 weeks for me.
-
UMD CNL FALL 2018
Yeah... I'm very surprised about how long it is expected to take....maybe it will end up being sooner. If interviewers are saying it should be ~2 weeks/within March, maybe there is just some lack of communication between them and the admissions counselors and they're just saying that to be safe. I remember calling Hopkins, and the admissions counselors said decisions wouldn't be released until after January...and I was notified December 22. So maybe it's just to cover themselves if there is some unexpected hold up. I'm really not sure, but April is very late. I guess we'll find out sooner or later

I called admissions today to see if there were any updates since today marks 3 weeks for those of us who interviewed the second week of February. I asked when we could expect to hear a decision, and I was told "sometime in April." I clarified if that would be when we'd find out even if we interviewed in the middle of February, and she said yes.

UMD CNL FALL 2018
Well we've heard that you can expect a decision 2-5 weeks after your interview due to the high number of applicants, which is a pretty big window of time. Here's to hoping we hear something sooner rather than later!!

UMD CNL FALL 2018
Ugh! Nothing on my end either. I know people have called, but I have yet to personally do so. Tomorrow will mark 3 weeks since my interview (and the rest of us who interviewed the second week of February), so I'm going to call later this week and see if they have any updates or additional information

UMD CNL FALL 2018
Aapage87, Ah understandable! I was just thinking about that. But yeah, you're right - everyone does not get an interview! I did an information session a few weeks ago and I believe they said around 100 are interviewed, and they accept 50-60 students (I wrote 150 in a previous post, but I'm pretty sure they said 100...I found my notes from it now haha). Of course those numbers could change if this is a bigger applicant pool than previous years maybe? But congrats to those who have received interviews, and good luck to everyone still waiting. :) Hopefully we hear something soon!! Early April seems like awhile away... Also, it looks like there is an information session tomorrow. If anyone here plans on going to that, maybe you can clear up some numbers for us.

Aapage87, did you inform them about the essay? Thanks for the info also! and JulietMei, you may be thinking of JHU's cohort size which is about 100-140. I PM'ed you a question about Hopkins vs UMD fyi!
