  1. You're most welcome.
  2. Hi Amanda, Welcome to the role of nurse educator (it appears). I am hopeful that you've secured a new position as a nurse educator. I've been a nurse educator for fourteen years and have never looked back. I absolutely love my job! I believe the key is having a great mentor and faculty who are positive role models in the classroom and clinical setting. My masters in nursing education degree scratched the surface, and working as a nurse educator is where you really learn. Now as for salary, this depends on where you live, prior experience (even adjunct as a clinical instructor), college or university, private or public, and if the school considers degrees or not. There are many schools who do not place faculty on a higher scale just because of their doctoral degree (unfortunately). Most of the salaries I've noticed for brand new faculty without experience ranges from 50,000 to 53,000, and with experience from 70,000 to 75,000 (it really depends on the scale selected by administration). So, I have always believed we aren't paid nearly what we should for what we do; however, it has to be the love of educating our nurses that drives the passion, because it's not the salary. The pay can be as high as 85,000 - 90,000 with time :-) Best wishes!
  3. Thank you, Perhaps in the summer. I'll definitely practice my time management and this is something I stress to my students. Now, I have to take my own advice :-) I believe next time around, I'll just focus on the Billings book as priority over the other study methods. I don't believe the others helped me as much.
  4. Have you attempted to take the test again?
  5. Hello, Update, unfortunately, I was unsuccessful on the exam :-( I missed by 11 questions, and the last 12-15 I literally marked whatever as I was running out of time. I couldn't believe I didn't pace myself well at all, and 3 hours was more than enough, so maybe I just second guessed too much. I am not certain if I would have passed if I didn't have to rush or not. I can't say that I could have read or prepared any better with Billings and Halstead, Mometrix, NLN study guide, and the Billings webinar from Nurse Tim. Maybe, for the first time I experienced test anxiety as I realized my time was nearly up. Considering trying again in the future.
  6. You're most welcome.
  7. This is great information, and I will continue to use these strategies to prepare. You have been very helpful and encouraging :-)
  8. Hi there, Congratulations! You did move your date up, and it worked. What would you say out of the resources was most helpful? Obviously, what ever strategies used worked out. I know you are relieved. I certainly hope I get the same news when I test. Again, way to go!
  9. Well, I feel confident that this method of studying will only bring success to us.
  10. I responded to your most recent post, but have to wait for Admin approval for it to show. I'm new here, so guess I'll have to wait for review of my last message to you. I am unable to respond in the personal message space since I'm new to the site. I sent you this link for studying if you weren't aware: tonie-metheny | Quizlet Some stated they passed after doing the online flashcards created by tmetheny.
  11. Congratulations! I know this is an awesome feeling. It's nice to read success stories :-)
  12. Hi there, I'm unable to reply to your message since I haven't been on the site long enough. However, thank you. I hit the submit button yesterday before I read your response and have since been listening to the webinar by Billings. We'll see how it goes. I am also working on my doctorate from Capella. We have quite a bit in common right now :-) Also, did you know about the nurse educator who have posted information on quizlet? I believe I located his information on this site. It's tonie-metheny | Quizlet and there were comments from those who passed the CNE after studying his flashcards.
  13. I am scheduled for 11/30 and I know what you mean :-) However, I am going to stick with my date and after making my own notes, I should be able to just review daily. I haven't taken the NLN SAE yet, but plan to, we'll see how it goes.
  14. Great! I'll inform you as well. We'll just keep studying :-)
  15. Thank you for responding. The prices begin to add up, but I am like you and want to obtain the best resources for success. Well, let's stay in touch and I do wish you success.
