PhD or EdD?
Research more into DNP. It I making a slow but large change. If that is completely out of the question and you are still thinking Edd vs phd. Go phd. Some programs would choose a phd in nursing over edd just because it's based in nursiń (even thought you are now in education). Crazy I know. Strange rules

unpaid orientation
Sounds like the cold hard truth of nursing academia. Welcome to the land of salary and not hourly wages. Oh and the time spent grading. It's difficult to calculate. Those that care spend endless hours helping students. Those that don't just fly right through it. Pride yourself in knowing that you are doing the right thing and helping to better the future of the nursing profession. Besides --- what brought you to nursing, the money or the ability to do good for human kind?

Love to Teach
Mysnurse, So glad we share the same passion and I truly at first had the same issues as you even after I earned an MSN with a focus in education. Many colleges/universities are looking for terminal degree preparation. So starting at a technical school or community college really helps to "get your foot in the door". It is funny how once you are in, other programs will be contacting you to come teach for them! Do not give up. And if you don't want to relocate you can choose a less than favorable commute for a few years. I commuted to the place where I got my foot in the door for 3 years ... 1 hr 20 min ONE way. The time paid off and now I have landed a job at a notable university only 25 minutes from my home. Don't give up! Ps - where are you located?

Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) Exam 2013
Hi all, Looking to connect with those who have taken the CNE exam under the 2012-2013 handbook. Today I took the exam and was extremely nervous. All of my exam prep activities were giving me varying feedback. I would achieve anywhere from a 63%-85% on practice exams unfortunately I failed. I didn't totally bomb it. I failed by 1 question. But a failure is a failure and I need to move on and continue to study so I can pass the next time. Does anyone have some sound advice to provide? I have both the 1st and 2nd Ed CNE STudy guides by Price-Witt .... I also performed the SAE. And surprisingly those results did not correlate with my performance areas on the actual exam. Any feedback on the archived Nurse Tim webinar or the CNe prep sessions offered at various locations advertised by the NLN? I feel like I am at a stand still .... Like I'm all studied out. Another testing issue I know I experienced was I could narrow it down to 2 answers and then got stuck. Any help with that would be greatly appreciated as well. Thank you all so much in advance for your responses.
