  1. It's complicated. It varies from person to person. To find out which shoes would be comfortable to you, First ask yourself, which foot type you have? ....this may help you
  2. I agree with roser13.Yes, I don't think there's a single answer to that question -- different makes (and models) of shoes are more or less comfortable for different people. I've had v. good experiences with Nursemates, SAS, and New Balance. But, just because one person swears by a particular brand of shoe, that doesn't mean it will work for you. It's better to find out from own. This may help you. Thanks
  3. If you do go with a littman go with the cheapest model - that's all you need for nursing school. Plus, nurses and residents will want to borrow your stethoscope and you will have to track them down to get it back. Get yourself a nice stethoscope as a graduation gift and make sure to get your name engraved on it! Hope, This comparison chart may help you out. Thanks

  5. I know everyone will give you recommendations on what works best for them, but I just wanted to encourage you to find a reputable running store in your area and have them do an assessment of your feet and your walking/running style. They can have you walk around or run on a treadmill for just a few moments and basically watch to see your pronation and can make suggestions (even if it isn't a shoe that they carry) for something that would be comfortable based on their observations of your pronation and arches. I wore Nikes to work for years "just because" and once I was actually fitted for appropriate shoes, (neutral pronation, very high arches), it has made ALL the difference. I can walk/run around on 16 hour shifts with no foot pain or discomfort now. (I wear a neutral New Balance for work but am looking for something with no mesh for clinicals, as well.) (P.S. I heard "Danskos" from nearly everyone I talked to and am still mulling over whether or not I want to shell out the $130 or so for them... I have Herrington rods from scoliosis surgery 10 years ago so shoes are hit or miss and that's a lot to spend to potentially hate them. Haha) Good luck in your search!!!
  6. I have the Classic III and I LOVE it. I've had the lightweight, select and Classic II and the classic III is far superior. My only complaint? It's heavy- about the same as the cards III I tested in store. I'm think about getting the master classic after graduation, as one of my classmates has it and raves about it constantly! To help prevent your scope from growing legs and running away, have the bell and tubing personalized. It's extra $ but worth it if you're putting the money into a good scope! For you, I think you can go for Classic III
  7. I have an electronic steth made by andromed that is amazing! I know there are steths with T-loops and accomadations for hearing aides. You can research online and I have used steths by phillips and andromed and find them both excellent. Much depends on what you can afford. Don't go with the amplified ones as they will amplify everything around you as well. I tried that type at first, didn't really work that great in a noisy situation. I am not being much help, LOL, but I do there are good steths out there and you will benefit from them. WOrd to the wise.... do not let anyone "borrow" your e scope!!! The drs will want to as you can hear so good with them, but Docs are notorious steth thiefs and if they will steal a cheapie, they will steal an expensive super cool steth!! So will fellow nurses, nursing students, etc!!!!! May find this use full Stetho Expert
  8. Littmann Classic II SE is good for overall performance. Classic III is also a good option. But, In my opinion Classic II SE works better for Nursing Student
  9. The BEST are the ones that work for YOU! Seriously, you have to figure this out on your own because everyone has such different issues. For years, I swore by Birkenstock and couldn't have worked at the bedside without them. Then one of my arches collapsed and I could no longer wear ANY Birkenstock. That's when I discovered Dansko and now I swear that I couldn't be a nurse without Dansko. Unfortunately, all of the top contenders are expensive. Go to a reputable shoe store (Walking Company, for instance) and get a recommendation, based upon their evaluation of your feet. This may help. 10. Classic II SE is pretty good now a days. Also everyone has there own preference. It's better to find out what will worth your investments.
