What??? I’m confused…as far as I know it’s GPA, then Kaplan scores, and now CASPer…it’s all a point system.

Me too, but we will see. I remembered a few of them not word for word but what the question was about. I made a post in here explaining it.

Wednesday only day we didn’t have class. Fridays was clinicals. Tbh you 100% don’t have a life you eat and breath nursing but…you have to give yourself some time off for your mental health or it will ruin you fast

I worked full time myself Thursday, Friday and Saturday. It was hard though not a lot of sleep. Part time is very much do able!

Don’t bother with any of the Kaplan books. Those are set up to give you a poor score. I recommend the ACT book for the reading and writing and for math tbh Youtube and for science Youtube. I was in first semester I was almost done but family situations…nursing is NO joke nothing like pre-nursing it’s 5x harder LOL

What I’ve been told it’s here to stay…unfortunately. The new Kaplan I do not like they change it last year. The old Kaplan was super easy! All physiology things that were much more fresh in my mind that biology. And no actually I was already in the program in 2019 but unexpected circumstances happened so I had to withdraw. I’m returning again and I have to do everything all over again (Smdh so mad) things are VERY different now is much more hard to get in, In my opinion…

I agree on the CASPer…I asked what was my score but got told by all of them that they cannot give me my score that only the school knows it…so I’m supposed to let 12 random strangers judge me and give their own opinion of my character???? And I should be okay with that…ummmm How will strangers gather ME by some questions…I’m sorry but I cannot gather info on someone to criticize an opinion of how much of a good person they’re for nursing.. Pretty ridiculous don’t you think?

For flagstaff is VERY hard to get in, that’s what I’ve heard. I’m applying for Yuma…

78% overall? What was your science and math scores? They look at overall, science then math. As for the CASPer what I was told “very” important…. ? they give you zero information on that tbh

Just took my Kaplan and I did terrible ? Science: Study Prokaryotes & Eukaryotes, Range of motions ( Flextion, externtion, rotation, addiction), organs that go with their system example: sleen = Lymphatic system things like that, what engulfs foreign microbes in a puncture wound…it’s not microphages.., what controls fine movements..this question man UGH! it’s not hypothalamus…other choices were Basal ganglia and Broca’s area can’t remember the fourth one, where is bile secreted, Mitosis and Meiosis (questions are like which of these are correct and wrong), acid base, endocrine (top job that it has), blood ( which of these is correct about blood), all four brain lobes know what they belong to example Occipital lobe = vision things like that, taxonomy largest to smallest, part of the brain that’s sensitive to emotionally danger stimuli..LOL something to that effect. Blood flow…veins, capillaries…the whole thing…if I remember anything else please don’t be shy and ask me ? I hope this helps all of you that is reading this sorry it’s not super detailed. math: fractions (adding, subtracting, divide, multiply) , please learn a faster way to reduce bcuz it took a lot of time from me some of the answers are big numbers which need to be reduced, Roman numberals know how to figure out what 1825 is in Roman numberals, a lot of % conversations back to decimals and vise versa.. I remember a question like ‘if 18 is 75% of what number… ratios and proportions… Reading:… What’s the main idea, where would this sentence fit, what is the author trying to say in ….., ACT book is great for this section Writing: ACT book is your best bet…I hated this one

Your best bet I say all Biology 181, personality I did not get any A&P questions on my version of test, like I mentioned before NAU has two versions so don’t rely on questions because you don’t know what version you’re getting…just refresh on Biology 181. Reading, writing and math are all the same concepts. good luck!

Same experience here! The new Kaplan has NOTHING on A&P it’s all Bio 181… Taxonomy that we all learned in Bio that order has nothing to do with nursing but once you’re in first semester you’ll see a type of Nursing taxonomy….

I took the test on March…and you’re right this NEW Kaplan test is very different nothing like when I tested in 2018. Apparently the school found out that some students posted the actual questions with answers in quizlet…so I’m 2020 they changed it. Now it’s basic basic ish things that also I was screwed! It’s such basic things that I don’t remember. But to answer your question I remembered a question about what the shortest sound wave (Gamma waves) and what’s the longest (Radio waves) also I remember a question on Chromosomes…sorry can’t remember the actual question. oh yeah NAU has two versions of the Kaplan which are 2A and 2B so not everyone will be tested on the same test. IDK it the school is doing 2A for one application cycle and 2B for the other…tbh IDK. The math, writing and reading that’s all the same! Don’t bother with quizlet for Kaplan study guides for Bio or can help. I test again September 2nd!

Hello anyone that’s taken the NAU Kaplan after March. Can anyone please help me with what to study for the science???? I was accepted into the program for Spring 2019. Unfortunately had to withdraw (mom got very sick) and now that things are back to normal I took the Kaplan this past March, and to my surprise the test has a whole different look whole different questions especially the science!! Is no longer Physiology it was all basic science…which I didn’t remember much LOL so I did very poor on the test ? So please please anyone that can tell me “study this exactly to be more familiar with ….” All I see on quizlet is pretty much questions with the old Kaplan which are pretty much useless. I test in less than two weeks!

Hi, I been reading lots and lots of discussion on the scores for the Kaplan when it comes for NAU. I am having such a hard time with it! I've taken it now 4 times and I score low! I don't know what else to do! I do study guides I take multiple Quizlet test which I always score 89%-97%. I walked in today feeling super confident because I been studying none stop! Well my final scores were overall 47%, Reading 41%, Math 43%, Writing 48%, and Science 60%. My nursing friends that are currently in the program are advising me to still apply because my "highest" score is science. Also because I have a 3.4 gpa. Which I've heard that it does not matter how high it is if you don't score high on the Kaplan your application is basically useless. If I don't make the cut this time around, I don't know I could be a sign that this is not my calling...it pains me so much to see all my friends in the program some in 2nd semester and 3rd. I feel I'm not smart for this field, I feel so stupid! Can any of you reading this just give me some light! Show me there is hope! I'm falling apart here... ( It hurt deep inside, because i want this so bad!!
