Got notice today I am being pulled from the waitlist! It hasn’t fully sunken in yet, but I couldn’t be more excited to start in August! There’s still plenty of time for more spots to open up. Best of luck to everyone still hoping for some good news!

DUKE CRNA 2019
I interviewed on 11/13 and if memory serves correctly, we were told the last day of interviews would be today, 12/5. Hopefully we all will know our fate within the next week or so! It's been quite the nerve wracking wait . Praying for some good news! Best of luck to all who interviewed and congrats to those accepted!

My mistake!! I have no idea why I typed the 3rd (which is a Saturday btw... lol), but Ill just go ahead and blame it on the fact that I had just gotten off of working all night when I typed that! So sorry for the confusion. I interview on the 13th! Looking forward to meeting many of you then!

Has anyone who was held over from the spring interview pool been accepted? If my understanding from the email I received in May was correct, we are still to be considered alongside those in the fall interview pool Congrats to those accepted and best of luck to everyone else!

Help! Need to find a Biochem/OChem course
Gotcha. Well thank you for the info! Best of luck to you with the new job and in applying for school!

Help! Need to find a Biochem/OChem course
Oh, nice! I was looking into UC Berkeley Extension since I'm living in the area for the foreseeable future, but they're $1085. I came to California as a travel nurse (sounds like you may be one as well?) and ended up recently taking a full time job until I eventually start school, so I'll be staying put for now. I looked on the UCSD Extension website, but I couldn't find anything for Organic Chem. I found an Intro to Biochemistry class, but that was the closest. Do you have a link you could share?

Help! Need to find a Biochem/OChem course
In the same boat here, actually. The schools I'm applying to, for the most part, don't require O-chem. There is one school that im thinking about that does, but at this stage of the game, I'm wondering whether it's worth it to spend the money and take away time from work for a class I may not even need. I don't know that you're gonna find anything online for under $1000, to be honest. UNE and Oregon State both seem to be good options, but like you said, expensive. Is an in-person class, perhaps in the evening, an option for you? It may not be very convenient, but if you can make it work for just a few months, you'll save some $$$. Plus, organic chemistry seems like one of those classes that is always better taught in person if you have that option.

Best job for new grad who wants to go to CRNA school
^ Sound advice here. I will add that it is important to look at the QUALITY of ICU experience each unit offers in terms of the patient population, acuity, and treatment modalities commonly used (i.e. invasive lines, mechanical ventilation, vasoactive infusions). Cardiac, trauma, or a large surgical ICU "generally" (there are always exceptions) tends to offer the most valuable and well-rounded experience for prospective CRNAs, as you will be interacting with anesthesia providers frequently and often recovering patients directly from the operating room. Stepdown experience is valuable if you cant get directly into ICU out of school (better than starting on med-surg for sure!) and honestly 6 months isn't long to wait if the ICU at that hospital will offer you the best quality experience. It really depends on what your timeline is to get back into school. I did a year on stepdown afte graduating (hospital wouldn't let me transfer before then), then moved to Trauma ICU and have been in this specialty for about 3 years now. Of course, I was also 22, unmarried with no kids, as a new grad and knew I wanted to take the time to mature and develop my skill set before hurrying back into school. Doesnt hurt that I have my car paid off and some money in the bank to go to school with either! It all depends on your personal goals and circumstances. Best of luck!

Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) 2019 DNAP
Yeah they explicitly said on interview day that they would not disclose how many are on the waitlist nor where any one of us is ranked. This seems to be common for every program, so no surprise there. Probably to spare them from getting tons of phone calls everyday, so I get it. All we can do is be patient and wait for a call!

Waitlisted over here as well. Fingers crossed for a call in November! Wonder how many spots they left open for the fall interviews...?

Thanks for the well-wishes everyone! Interview went fairly well. Obviously I feel like I could have answered many questions better now when the pressure isn't on (as is always the case), but I've certainly walked out of previous interviews feeling less confident than after this one. The faculty and current students were all super welcoming and helpful. I absolutely love everything about this program and could see myself being very successful there if I'm accepted. Now the waiting game begins!! Best of luck to everyone!

Interview day for me is tomorrow! So far, it looks like I'm the only 5/29 interviewee who has been posting on here. Wish me luck! Best of luck to those who are still awaiting a decision!

Actuator Life Threatening Cardiac Arrhythmias, CRNA app
My gut says this is most likely the case. When in doubt, ask! Email the admissions department for the school. They're usually eager to help with these sorts of questions! Best of luck applying!

Congrats! I got my interview invitation this mornning as well! Which interview date did you choose? I went with 5/29. I would have preferred to interview earlier but had work obligations on 5/8 that I couldn't get out of.
