PMHNP! I wonder if they release decisions based on specialty?

Haha I know! People love their program but I couldn't justify the cost plus the first year being private loans ?

I'm between UCSF and Yale! I declined UPenn which was terrifying but I really want to know if I got into UCSF

@Kin07 @Tryingtobecomeanrn Thank you both for responding! For me Yale appears to be the most afforadable even though they offered significantly less scholarship money than UPenn but both programs seem great

I got an email that I was waitlisted today for PMHNP. Too be honest, I'm surprised! I was accepted everywhere else I applied including some big name Ivy leagues. Good luck to everyone waiting to hear back and congrats to everyone who was admitted!

My interview was a panel of 5 and they each asked about two questions, they were all very nice. I didn't feel like I did very well either. I was surprised by the questions, I was prepared for the usual why our program, why nursing, why PMHNP but the questions were mostly about my personality, strengths and weaknesses. They designed some of the questions to catch you off guard like I was asked to teach them something I know a lot about. I thought they said the decision would come today but I must have misunderstood.

As others have said, there a lot of programs! Some that lead to an NP specialty and some that are just general MSN while you get an RN. I also applied to Colombia, UCSF, UPenn, Yale, Oregon State Health University and Johns Hopkins for direct entry programs that lead to NP specialty

Me too! For PMHNP as well. Out of anxiety I applied to a couple school and now have to make a hard decision

My interview was a panel of 5 people and each of them asked me roughly 1-2 questions so I would guess ~8 questions. I felt like the interview was designed to make me think on my feet a bit and to get a sense of me as a person more so than my qualifications. I would recommend spending some time reflecting on strengths and weaknesses prior to the interview.

I think it may be specialty specific for the ABSN-DNP, I interveiwed for PMHNP and they told me that I would get a decision around 02/21 For people applying to the ABSN-DNP how did you deal with thank you emails since it was panel interview? I did not receive my interviewers contact information as I did for other schools I interviewed with.

ABSN-DNP. My email does not mention an essay but instead an activity to complete before the interview that will take about 15 minutes

I also applied to Portland. I wonder if it has to do with your specialty? I'm interviewing for PMHNP

What is the essay portion? The email I got was very vague and only said that I would get a pre-interview activity to complete 30 minutes before my interview. I'm anxious about what that might be

My email was just accept/deny but if you responded and asked to reschedule maybe they could accommodate you? I really liked that Yale let you pick an interview date from a list of open slots.

I also got an email last night to interview for PMHNP next week! It seems like their going out slowly so don't give up hope yet.

Hi everyone! I was admitted for PMHNP! I'm still waiting for a few other decisions, particularly UCSF since I'm in California. I'm wondering how other people who applied to multiple schools are going to handle the deadlines for all the programs not lining up? To everyone who didn't get in, don't give up! I was rejected from the program I applied to last year but have gotten multiple acceptances this year. I would suggest reaching out to admission in a few months and asking for a review of your application if you plan to reapply next year, it really helped me. Did you schedule a meeting with financial aid or attend a session? I have been trying to figure out how much each program is going to cost in total and having trouble?

I have to take time off work for the interview so I hope they tell us when it will be soon.

I was accepted for the PMHNP specialty! I'm wondering if anyone has gotten a finaid letter? My admission letter said one would come no later than a week after admission but I still haven't received one.

Hi! I know this is kind of an old post but I'm curious do you need to remove the schools when you change from 5th year undergrad to 1st year grad or can I just leave my list of all the schools and change the status?

My interviewer mentioned offhand that they had been allowing limited exceptions but she was unsure if they would continue to do so with the current spread. She said it was not possible to provide clinical placements that didn't have covid + patients. If your doctor said you cannot be vaccinated they might grant you an exception
