I had the same issue. I had been thinking about skipping getting my LPN and go straight to RN. I then took 2 years off school and never got any further with my education. The LPN program that I'm currently in is $28,000. I had to get a student loan for 20k but so far I'm not really worried about it. To be honest I just needed a program that started quickly and to get into without pre-req's. I finish next month and I am already enrolled for fall semester into my local community college for pursing my RN. As long as you are still enrolled in 3 college credit hours, you won't get charged interest on subsidized loans. Which was the biggest thing I was worried about. Yes, 30k is a lot for school but everyone has their own path but the end goal is the same...You will be an LPN! So I would go for it. Year after year of contemplating getting my LPN and I'm finally almost done. Good luck!

I think you should stay for the experience. I also know a lot of LPN's who do home health and get paid a lot and then you wouldn't have to worry about being bullied/name called by the RN's. What online school are you transitioning from LPN to RN online? I'm currently in LPN school and will be done soon and want to know of schools to get my RN.

Hey nurses! I just had a quick question. I'm currently a nursing student and I'm doing clinicals at a LTC/rehabilitation center. So the nurse wanted two of us to give a patient a bath. When we walked into the bathroom in his room there were two red biohazard trash cans inside. We then asked the nurse why they were there. She then says it is because he has c. diff and we will need to wear PPE when giving the shower. But we had previously entered the room multiple times before to give breathing treatments and finger sticks. There were no signs on the door. The nurse herself walked in without PPE. My question is....Don't you have to wear PPE with a C. Diff patient any time you enter the room? No matter what? When we walked away from the nurse one of the doctors there said you only need to wear PPE when you change/wipe him.
