  1. For the admitted student day, I feel like we really haven’t gotten too much information- just to be at the school of nursing at 8? What should we bring, if anything?
  2. I got in to the BSN-DNP program in acute care!! yay!!! congrats everyone!!!
  3. I wonder if it would be beneficial to call admissions? haha
  4. I just wanna know! I'm been checking my email constantly.
  5. Yeah one of my friends told me about that...not a fan at all....
  6. I attached a screenshot. i have a feeling this one is specific to my program which is BSN-DNP in acute care.
  7. Did anyone else get the email today - about the admitted student days, admission decisions being available soon when "deliberations and interviews are concluded" and what to do if you're on the wait list.?
  8. Hopefully it’ll be this week!! I keep checking my email like crazy!
  9. Especially if someone is out of state, makes plans to come April 26th and then gets rejected.....
  10. I’m assuming they sent it to everyone but It would be kinda sucky to get the email and not get in.
  11. Got this email as well! Haha they’re teasing us with this. I would hate to get this and not get it!
  12. Looks like you’re already an NP so you’re doing MSN-DNP? I wonder if it will be different for the BSN-DNP group.
  13. Nope I only applied to duke. Have been checking my mailbox and email nonstop
  14. I applied to the BSN-DNP program specializing in acute care. I’m getting anxious since I figure we’ll be getting notifications soon via mail.
  15. I applied to the BSN-DNP specializing in acute care in adults. I’m getting so anxious! I heard it was gonna come via mail so I just keep checking my mailbox.
  16. Also, saw earlier that they were interviewing all applicants? Is that true?
  17. Hi all! I applied to the BSN-DNP program specializing in acute care. I had my interview Feb 18 and was told they were meeting March 6 and decisions were going to be sent out after that. Has anyone heard anything? I’m checking my mailbox and account like crazy?
  18. Hey all! I applied for the BSN-DNP in acute care. I had an interview Feb 18th. They told me they were having a meeting on March 6th and then letters will be sent out via mail after that. Anyone hear anything yet? I keep checking SSIS and my mail box.
  19. Stating I feel burnt out and actually being burnt out are two completely different things. I come to work extremely enthusiastic. I am super nice nice to staff and patients. I am also doing more for my patients that what's required. I'm not you're typically burnt out mean lazy nurse. I just want to advance my career and education past a bedside nurse. I'm not someone who can remain stagnant in my career.
  20. Hi all! I currently a bedside nurse working on a neuro stepdown unit with my BSN. I unfortunately already feel burnt out with bedside nursing and am looking to go back to school to advance my career. I'm only 23 so I feel like the possibilities are endless. I always thought I would go back to get my DNP and work as an acute care or primary care NP but I'm leaning away from this as I don't know if I can do patient care the rest of my life. I love medicine and interacting with patients but I feel under appreciated and stressed most days. I've looked into going back to law school, getting MBA, or even med school. I was just curious on what other nurses opinions are on 1. Going back to school early in your career and 2. Going back to school for something not medical. I would love to hear any input! Thanks :)
  21. I also work at a hospital where housekeeping is unionized and does not have to touch any bodily fluids. Also, nurses or aides are expected to "strip" the room and remove linens and trash and housekeeping just changes trash bags, quick mops the floor, and wipes down the counters. To me, it is ridiculous. I have no problem cleaning up feces, urine, blood etc. but it's frusteating when I feel like I do more cleaning than employees hired to clean.
  22. Hey all, i got my ATT yesterday and scheduled my NCLEX for June 16. My start date for my job is July 10th. I read online that it takes 6 weeks for the BON to get the NCLEX results to verify your license. That doesn't make sense to me considering you can see your unofficial results in a couple of days and I've heard of any of my friends waiting that long. I'm applying for licensure in NC if that makes any difference! thanks!!! :)
  23. Hi all! I was just curious on how much y'all think I should study for the NCLEX. To put it very bluntly, I am not worried about the NCLEX. I have been reading entirely through my Saunders book and reviewing ATI but I was wondering if I should do more? My ATI predictor rated me with a 99% chance of passing the NCLEX on my first try. I have never gotten a B in nursing school. I have friends who aren't studying at all and friends who are studying 12 hours a day. Thanks for all input in advance!
  24. Northeastnurse17! I accepted a position on a neuro unit and am looking for a roommate!! I'm relocating from the Chicago area. Since we can't PM because we're new, feel free to add me on fb (my name is Liz Ann on there) or instagram lilliz_94
