  1. I think it easier to check your status from the nursing school webpage on the "apply now" link, then click "check your status" and sign in that way.
  2. As far as interviews go, it is true as someone posted before that you are interviewed by a faculty member that may or may not be from the specialty you applied to. They ask you a series of questions that everyone gets asked. I do not remember them specifically, but they are your typical interview questions like "tell me about a time..." where you have to recall experiences and what the outcome was. And there are specific questions asking about how you deal with school, like situational type questions and how you would navigate certain issues. Not sure if my explanations are particularly helpful, but happy to share what I know.
  3. Nice! And yes the tuition is high at Duke. Although I feel that it will be worth it long term. I know different from other programs I was looking into, Duke has you graduate being able to do tele-psychiatry and the training to prescribe buprenophrine.
  4. @jess427rn you’re welcome! Let me know if you have anymore questions and I hope the application process goes well for you! what sort of mental health experience do you have? And what other programs have you applied to?
  5. Thank you @jess427rn From my understanding, it can be full time if you make it, they use the term “fully enrolled” for everyone and you can plan with your advisor for a plan of study that works best for you. I do not have my notes in front of me, but I believe the program can be finished in early as 6 semesters and the average length is 7 or 8 semesters. But they require us to do more than the minimum amount of clinical hours, so instead of maybe 500, we do like 660. Again, please don’t quote me on the numbers. So it really depends on what agreement you come to with the school and your work schedule, as most people continue working throughout the program.
  6. @jess427rn I applied and was accepted early for the PMHNP program for the fall. Nice to see another potential psych NP on here!
  7. Early review was only for those of us that are an affiliate of duke, such as current duke employee or alumni. They sent us an email after beginning the application that if we submitted everything by a specific date that we could be reviewed early prior to the closing of the original due date. So it wasn’t anything that would have been posted on their website. I didn’t even know that was a thing until they emailed me about it.
  8. Your status will change and I was called to schedule an interview. I have been told by previous applicants that I work with that they received an email with a link to schedule an interview time. They use a program called "zoom" similar to skype for interviews.
  9. Yes, after they review your application, they may or may not select you for an interview. Then once you interview, they review everything once more to make a final decision.
  10. Hi all, I applied and was accepted for Fall 2020 into the MSN - PMHNP program. I was able to submit my application early due to being an affiliate of Duke. Came here looking for a thread to see who else would potentially be starting in the Fall. Good luck to everyone who has applied! If you have any questions, let me know.
  11. hello, I tried opening the document. I know your initial post was a couple years ago, but if you are still active and have it available, could you please send me the report sheet? email is: [email protected] Thank you!
  12. Oh neat! and did you or any of the other ADN's have prior healthcare experience? How is the application/interview process? Every forum I've read seems to say it is super hard to get into, like you have to know somebody, but I feel like you and fellow ADNs have something that makes you stand out from the BSN students.
  13. Thanks for your response! I have looked into the colorado mental health hospital in Denver, which is closer to where I want to be. Pueblo is a little too South. Also, I do really love psych, but I am torn b/c I want to get some medical skills experience and I know I will not do that as much in psych. So I am pretty open to any type of facility/unit. Do any of you know about Kindred or Colorado Long Term Acute Hospital and their friendliness to ADNs or what their facilities are like?
  14. yes, I looked at some psych facilities around the Portland area. It is a beautiful state. Do you know of any facilities in particular that are more willing to hire ADNs?
  15. I was looking at them, and Centennial Health.. they said on job posting that ADN's & new grads welcome. I wouldn't mind either since I plan on getting my BSN as quick as possible & then I can hopefully have better chance at getting on at a major hospital.
