  1. Yes. You need too.
  2. Don’t panic. It is still early. You can reach out to (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) to get a update on your status.
  3. Yes. It is typical open ended questions. Not bad at all. Good luck!
  4. Not many papers at all but you have to write some throughout the 2 years.
  5. The Summer semester is a great start. It wasn’t too bad. I can remember maybe like 5 test a semester. We had 2 campus visits for the whole 2 years. You had to do a video for health assessment.
  6. I started in the Summer of 2017 and graduated Spring 2019. You have to take the classes like they are shown on the plan of study. Yes, some classes are lighter than others. Advanced Patho, Health Assessment, and Pharmacology are tough but these classes are at any university. Patho was the hardest to me. I worked full time during the program. It is doable, if I could of worked part time I would have especially when you start doing clinicals.
  7. Hello, My experience was great! The instructors really cared about your success. I had a class of like 25 students. It was like 5 students to one instructor which made it easier to communicate with the instructor and you had their cellphone number to call/text them for quick answers. You did have to find your own preceptors. You worked hard but the instructors were very supportive. What other questions do you have?
  8. I just completed the post masters FNP program at the University of Alabama in May 2019. It was a great program. We had two campus visits. I live in Mississippi but Tuscaloosa is one hour from my house. The instructors were very supportive. There was like 5 students assigned to one advisor/instructor. This made it easier to get in contact with the instructor when you needed help. I am about to start the DNP program at the University of Alabama in Fall 2020.
  9. The University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, AL (Capstone College of Nursing).
  10. The University of Alabama Post Masters FNP program takes two years. Please talk to the nurse recruiter for the MSN programs. She is great!
  11. I have my MSN in Nursing Education. I am currently enrolled in the Post Masters FNP program at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, AL. I enjoyed working with nursing students, but my heart is caring for patients.
  12. I think living in North Mississippi 80k to 90k is not bad at all. The market in this area is saturated with NPs so NPs will take 80k to 90k just to get a NP job.
  13. I have been a bedside RN for 8 years. I am really burned out but I love bedside nursing. I want to advance my nursing career into becoming a FNP. I am burned out with management, not having weekends and holidays off, and I want to have a more flexible schedule. I just want to be happy. I know that being a FNP will be a different type of stress and more responsibility but I believe that I can handle it better then what I am going through now. I don't really care about the money. I care about helping my patients and living a good life.
  14. TheOldGuy, Thanks for the information.
  15. TheOldGuy, I put a lot of thought in what you were saying about no psych experience and schools not looking into the students nursing experience. I have changed my mind but I am not indecisive. I am going to do FNP now. I have 8 years of Med-Surg experience. I will look into PMHNP in the future. Thanks for your advice.
