  1. I got mine today too! I am so happy and good luck to those who are waiting still!!
  2. I emailed Michael just now, he said they will be out by the end of the month for GEM admissions.
  3. I went for the first day of interviews, and Michael the admissions director said they were aiming to have them out at the end of March instead of the end of April which was the initial time line. Either way, I hope we get them soon. And good luck to everyone!
  4. I haven't heard anything, but I was under the impression they wouldn't have decisions out until the end of March. At least that's what they said in the interview session.
  5. at least it's only a month this time around and not 2.
  6. Hmmm, don't think it saved my first response. Anyway, the first 30 minutes were them answering basic questions about the program with all 85 interviewees. After that we broke into groups of 4 or 5 for the group interview portion. There were four 45 minute sessions and 3-4 groups going at the same time. I was the first session of the day; there were supposed to be 5 of us all together, 3 via skype. One of the Skype people couldn't connect so there were 2 of us in person and 2 conferenced in via skype on a television. Overall it was very relaxed. We had a bunch of laughs as we were all trying to figure out the configuration. The two faculty members interviewing us were very kind and made the interview feel like a group of friends meeting at a coffee shop. We were asked very basic things: Tell me about yourself. Why do you want to become a nurse? What is the biggest issue in healthcare and why? Where do you see yourself in 5 years? Overall I feel it went very well and I can't wait to hear back. They are trying to get out acceptance letters by the end of March this year.
  7. That is super strange! I did contact the people hosting the mock interviews before I was invited though. Maybe they contacted people with general inquiries?
  8. College of Nursing UHP- Mock Interviews I don't know if the link still works, but here it is if you want to try it.
  9. I am interviewing on 2/21 too! Thanks for all the info. I started looking into the faculty and research, but I hadn't thought about relating to nursing in my current field. That's good advice.
  10. How did the mock interview go? Did you find it beneficial?
  11. I signed up for the mock interview on Feb. 15th. I saw they were doing them all the way up until Feb 22nd, isn't that the day the real interviews are supposed to start?! Let me know how the mock interview goes, please. Hopefully we hear back by the end of the week.
  12. I haven't seen a UIC 2017 GEM thread yet. Any tips for interviews or what to expect in the program? Has anyone heard back yet?
  13. Does anyone who has been accepted into the GEM program at UIC have any input on how the school year is going so far? I applied for 2017 and am interested in hearing opinions on it.
  14. I applied to UIC's GEM of nursing for Fall 2017, wondering if anyone has any input on the program from previous years or has started a separate thread to discuss this.
