  1. Congratulations!!!
  2. Hi, I'm not a nursing student yet, but I was also accepted two both programs. I chose mt sac because its a has a good reputation locally, and it seems like they have a student support system like nursing tutors and open door policies. Really, most CCs have good reputations around here. I sent you a PM.
  3. Hi, Did you receive the package via snail mail or email?
  4. Do you guys know how soon after orientation we will be split to T/W or F/S groups? I'm trying to figure out my schedule
  5. Good looking out!
  6. Did you guys get an email to confirm that they received your acceptance email?
  7. Not even private for-profits will take you? Try ADN programs?
  8. As you know, micro and phys are difficult and time consuming classes. Take the extra semester to to finish strong. What's the rush? You don't get extra points for taking summer courses or finishing early. I'm surprised your school offers micro in the summer. If you're in LA, you know that public schools are competitive, and already the core science courses are heavily weighted. Take the time to make As so that you give yourself the best chance at being accepted into your first choice school. Bro, si se puede!
  9. Accepted. What excites you guys the most about attending mt sac?
  10. It sounds like he and you have a close working relationship if he felt comfortable showing you his phone, have him on snap, and he helps you with patients. Why couldn't you have then asked him directly and in a confidential matter if he was really high? Why not warn him or talk to him as a colleague before going to the charge nurse and MD to start an investigation?
  11. Yes. I use it to get a feel for the professor, what are some dos and don'ts, how many people are passing with As, and the workload. Generally, if there are a lot of negative reviews or if the workload is unusually heavy or if the professor is known for outbursts, I try to avoid those classes. I also talk to class mates at school that have taken said classes before to confirm the reviews. I've posted my fair share of positive reviews on the site and only one negative review. So, it's not always disgruntled students that post.
  12. Bump. I had my appointment today. Looks like I'm in. It's all pretty quiet until orientation, I guess. Do you guys have any tips or go to places to study (don't say library) for new students to Mt. sac?
  13. Here you go, RCC.pdf - DocDroid I uploaded the PDF that came from RCC for fall 2017.
  14. sorry. I live near by, so maybe look out got it next week as it was dated 4/7. Orientation is 4/21 12:30-2:30 Teas tests are 4/28 and 4/29 9 am - 11 am
  15. That's awesome. Hopefully things haven't changed much. Is Mt sac running your background check now or will that be done in June?
  16. Awesome. Congrats. Were you able to find out what the first semester schedule is like?
  17. check your spam folder and the mt sac portal?
  18. I just received a notification to schedule an appointment with the counseling department. I think I'm in the low 80s, depends if they accept my work experience. Good luck everyone.
  19. Nothing here. Man, I should have taken a class because the wait is killing me.
  20. That sucks man. It might be unreasonable to ask for the full amount of a new laptop for these reasons: 1. the laptop was in your possession - you didn't loan or rent it, 2. it was an accident - you're responsible for your own things, 3. it's a used laptop - depreciation. Not saying it was your fault or that you don't have a right to be upset. Focus on getting it fixed first then approach her in a casual way to see if she's willing to help pay a fraction of the cost. I don't see a need to get the police involved in this. Good luck with the rest of your program.
  21. From hell? It does sound like she lacks initiative and that can be frustrating. But to say she's from hell? How many patients did she kill? A bit harsh, no?
  22. I work in a clinic, and a former coworker of mine was fired during her probation period for doing something similar. According to her, she had to step out and take a call from her grandmother that she had not spoken to in years. It seems that she abandoned her post without telling her coworkers and no one knew where she was for quite a while. My coworker was incredulous that they let her go given that she was so close to finishing her probation period. I'm sorry you were let go from your job.
  23. Does anyone know ppl that have attended mt sac and what their experience was like?
  24. i believe that's correct, but double check with them. We weren't given stats on previous cohorts.
