  1. @Ashleeyhope I don't know much about the Quebec school system(s) as I am from Ontario, but I do know a Quebecois nursing student youtuber that I watch who apparently did do cegep and then went to McGill (she explains her schooling in some of her videos), so go check her out! Her Youtube is Jujubml ? Hope that helps at least a bit. Best wishes.
  2. Received my offer from MoMac today, so happy! Congrats to you @Vcruz & good luck to everyone!
  3. Hello @Vcruz, The admissions adviser for Mohawk stated on Friday via automatic reply that RPN to BScN offers will be released sometime the first week of May aka this week, so hopefully the wait will be be over.
  4. Hello @danthemano, As I look through various threads r/t bridging in Ontario on this website, there have been countless times that I've stumbled upon your posts regarding your current situation and desire to bridge/become and RN. I understand your need to find answers, as it must be frustrating to be in such situation. However, riding along the same boat as @RPN_student (as well as the other ppl from other threads who have gave similar advice, as I've noticed)... FOCUS on getting through the program first/finishing off strongly-- even if you've failed that course. Try your best to get the grades that you are content with-- then, if you feel like your marks in such 2 courses you have left will raise your average a bit, then maybe consider your next steps! Most of all, focus on that upcoming CPNRE! Sure continue to ask questions whether it's to the schools that offer such bridging programs, or through this website, but face it-- time and time again, you'll likely be given the answer that such (and most, if not all I believe... not too sure?) programs will (Likely) not accept students who have failed a course(s), and/or don't have a (usually) 80%+ average. I'm not trying to be harsh or let down any of your hopes, but it's just the reality of these bridging programs-- they're competitive, therefore the requirements are the way they are. Remember these programs prepare you for the transition to becoming an RN-- hence since the scope of practice is wider than an RPN... that means more broadening of knowledge/skills throughout those years of learning in bridging = so the program will likely be more intense/difficult, but of course doable. If you're already having difficulty in a course(s) or perhaps your program, how much more in bridging? (Just something for thought...). If let's say that you aren't able to find any other options to become an RN after you complete your program, remember it's not the end of the world :) -- there are so many other options you could do with your career as an RPN (e.g. several colleges in ON offer continuing ed courses; e.g. Centennial offers a "RPN Operating Room" program)! No matter what, best of luck.
  5. Congrats guys! I got my CoMac one on the on the 11th!
  6. Has anyone heard from Mohawk College-McMaster yet? The admissions advisor said to me recently offers are going to be sent out this month.
  7. Does anybody (esp. if they are or were in the program) have any thoughts on the Centennial bridging program? I'd love to hear about any experiences you've had. The deadline is coming up next month to accept the offer, and I still do not know whether to go for the 2 semester bridging or the flex (3 sem).
  8. Hi @ce nguyen, Did you end up calling Mohawk to inquire about this-- did they update it? I'm in the same situation lol.
  9. @HeatherLems, No I didn't apply to GB, only 3 schools. Congratulations to you on both of your acceptances so far! :) I read that apparently the McMaster acceptances start to roll-in late April/early May... *fingers crossed* hope we get in + best of luck to you! Either one would be great as it's closer to home, so it will be more beneficial for me, but I'm still fine with Centennial as well :) Please be sure to update the page if you (or anyone else reading this) got an acceptance, I would love to know when the CoMac/MoMac sent out the offers!
  10. Hello @HeatherLems, I got into Centennial for Fall 2017 as well, still waiting for MoMac/CoMac (my first choice)! The wait for their acceptances is so long
  11. To brookiebell16 -- Hi, I got accepted to Fall 2017 Flex as well. Still undecided on whether I should accept as I am still waiting for other colleges' response.
  12. Hello, I recently finished the Seneca Practical Nursing (Full-Time; King) program this last Dec 2016-- so hopefully I can provide anyone with my own, personal thoughts on the program. Overall, the professors and clinical instructors that I've had the privilege to work with were all motivating to students, unique/talented in their own way, and willing to help you (of course, you must put in the adequate amount of effort to succeed in the program, or else you will fall behind; repeat a course; or fall back a semester and thus further the total length of study than usual, which was sadly (?) the case of some students in my section). 1st semester was the most overwhelming for me personally, because of the amount of subjects (7, I believe?), but over time as I progressed through the program, with average of 4-6 subjects, I got used to it, so it wasn't so bad-- once again, as long as you do your part and work smartly! Time management plays a big part, of course, as evident for any student in any program. The level of difficulty for the core nursing courses is relatively similar, but content-heavy courses like Health and Healing/Pharmacology etc., require extra amount of effort so prepare for that. Luckily, I was able to stay in residence for several semesters as I was there, so commuting wasn't really a hassle/problem for me until my final semester. But if you do plan to commute, make sure to plan accordingly-- as King City is pretty far... haha. Clinical-wise, I can say that I'm happy with the rotations I've completed-- long-term care (as much as some people dread it or find it "boring" -- it's not! Personally I find it a great experience, and good way to set a foundation sort-of in the fundamentals of nursing :) ), rehabilitation, hospital/medicine. I enjoyed my academic experience at Seneca, met several great people. The campus is quite old, but if you're one of the lucky ones that will be attending Seneca King when their new expansion is finished... I'm jealous!! Good luck to all in your endeavours, regardless of where you are/will go.
