I'm a new RN. I interviewed on the last day of school and was offered acute care PRN 3 days after graduation. I start on Monday. Another hospital I applied at, however, called me today wanting to schedule an interview for next week for full-time CCU or ER. Now, it's just an interview and I may not even be offered a job in CCU or ER, but to me, those are desirable departments and it would be hard to turn down if a job was offered.
What are the chances that it may be possible to work full-time in either the ER or CCU and PRN in acute care where I'm to start on Monday. At my interview, should I tell them that I've accepted a job working PRN in acute at this other hospital? Or should I wait and see if I'm even offered a job to bring it up?

I do just that but I've been nursing for a while longer. I wouldn't advise a new nurse to take any PRN position because the orientation wouldn't be as good. Do some full time for a while, get your skills down and then you can add on a PRN position.
The orientation is full-time for 6 weeks, then PRN after that, but I've heard that you can get full-time hours if you want them. I'm just not sure if I should tell hospital #2 that I've accepted a PRN position at hospital #1 at the interview.
If you want to go ahead and do it, then yes, don't tell them at the interview

Don't mention anything to the other job.... If you are offered ccu and ER you will have to drop one not the other . You can't be on orientation at both jobs at the same time ....

An egg in the hand is worth two in the bush. Meaning, I would take the guaranteed fulltime position over the one that "maybe" could be fulltime hours (and since you're PRN, I assume that these are fulltime hours sans benefits).
