with 2006 priority date

Hello all!

My priority date for H-1B visa is August 2006 and the current priority date is Sept 2006, but my VISA SCREEN had expired.

I retook my IELTS exam and failed twice, which hinders me to renew it.

  • at first: my Speaking is 6.5, listening 8, writing 6.5, reading 6
  • second take: speaking 7, listening 6, writing 6.5, reading 6.5

My questions are?

1. Is it possible to combine my IELTS score on those 2 exams?

2. What will happen to my priority date?

Thanks

I appreciate any advise/info you can extend.

Do you mean immigrant visa PD of 2006? You are required to have an up to date English exam to renew visa screen certificate and it usually is required for your interview at the embassy. I doubt you can combine English exam results but something should be written in VSC handbook

Congratulations...I hope everything works out for you.

Hi everyone! I almost have the same case. My priority date is feb 2007.. I am waiting for it to become current and my VISA Screen has expired 3 years ago. I am scheduled to take my IELTS in 2 weeks and I have not started my application to take the NCLEX yet. Will this pose a problem or delay in my interview? And another thing, how do I apply for a visa for my husband and son? Thanks!

Application for family should be included now by your lawyers. I presume you must have passed CGFNS exam to be issued a VSC previously so probably better to have started state registration whilst waiting for your PD to come up. Which country are you from?

Yes, I have passed my CGFNS way back 2005 and have received my visa screen on the same year. But my visa screen expired 3 years ago already and I did not realize that I have to have a valid visa screen until i learned that my application from 8 years ago has been approved and my priority date is soon to be current. I am from the Philippines. I just don't know where to start with the process. It has been a while already. Thank you so much!!!

In regards your family you need to contact the lawyers and ask them to add them to your application. You will need to complete up to date paperwork before you have your medicals and interview. What state are you planning on working in? Where is your job? depending where you are would depend which state to apply to as you can't start working as a nurse until you have passed NCLEX

I am scheduled to take my English Proficiency Exam 2 weeks from now. After which I will renew my visa screen and hope that I will receive it just before the interview. I am planning to work in Chicago and the BON requires a valid Visa Screen for an NCLEX applicant to be eligible to sit in for the exam..

Looking at Illinois website you can use CES or CGFNS exam results. VSC is just another thing that can be used

Thank you very much for that information..I truly appreciate your advice...

Hi! Im rather confused. I have just learned that my priority date suddenly becomes current (january 2009) as they are now processing 2010 PD's.... What is the next step? How will I know if my EB3 petition was approved? I am represented by an employment agency in the Phils but I still dont hear from them..Do I need to contact NVC? Pls help!

My understanding is the embassy will contact you in regards medical and interview date. You will need to make sure vsc is valid and paperwork from employer confirming job etc
