Should I take more than one Biology class at a time? I'm a first time freshman and start college in August. I want to register for my classes but I don't want to over do it in my first semester since I am new to college and want to do well! Also, what is a reasonable amount of classes/credit hours to take per semester? I don't want to do prereq's for three or four years! Thanks!

I would take one science course at a time. Since you're just starting out you can safely take one science course and pair it with pre-req courses like English, psychology, math, etc. I've always found 12-13 credit hours to be a nice balance between course load and manageability.

Mix them with other pre-reqs. Like take an English and a psych class on top of a biology. I don't recommend taking two sciences at the same time if you can avoid it.

I would agree that if you're just starting out just take one with a fll course load to test the waters. I did this and found I soar at the sciences and was able to plow through 45 credits in 2013 (once fall is over) and make it to spring. You may surprise yourself, but don't set yourself up for failure!

Since it is your first semester, I wouldn't take more than one science. Then you can see how you do and figure out what you can do the rest of the time. I usually take 14 to 16 hours a semester.

I did 14-16 credit hours per semester when I was doing my prereqs. I took A&P1 and A&P2 during the same semester and it wasn't too bad. If you are going to have to take multiple semesters anyway, though, I'd recommend you do them separate. It really depends on the professors too, as always.

I would also suggest one science at a time. Unless they are a split semester. For instance, I'm taking AP1 Aug-Oct, then AP2 Oct- Dec, then Micro Dec-Jan.
