hi, i am new to the site. i currently work as a stna/cna and am in nursing school for my lpn. i am 24, married and have a 2 1/2 year old daughter. my question is this. i am now 23 days late for my period, that is always on time. i take birth control pills and have been taking them religiously ever since having my daughter almost 3 years ago. i have taken 2 hpt's and both turned out negative. i have gone to the dr as well and gotten a negative on my urine test there. could i still be pregnant? either way (pregnant or not) i would be happy, but the "not knowing" is killing me!

They will tell you with a quickness here that we aren't allowed to give out medical advice.

But if you do a yahoo search you will find instances of false negative pregnancy tests.

I would run and not walk to the nearest OB/GYN.

not medical advice just friendly advice....ask your ob to do a blood test to check for pregnancy. if you are not pregnant might want to have your ob/gyn get to the bottom of why you haven't had your period.

I'm in school & occasionally miss my period due to stress, but YES run to your OB to get an answer the waiting will drive you crazy!

This is a question for your health care provider. Please, for you own peace of mind, call or make an appointment as soon as you can.
