Can you give a bit more information to why you are after this? If nursing student and has it as assignment we are more than happy to help but you need to let us know what you have already got. If looking for medical advice, as part of terms of service, that is something we can not offer on this site

hi, cayecaulker, and welcome to allnurses! :welcome:

preauricular abscess is not much information. there is a whole list of websites that was posted on allnurses for the members, particular student nurses, to use to find all the information (definition, incidence, cases, risk factors, pathophysiology, diagnosis, signs & symptoms, treatment, prognosis and complications) that you are looking for. you need to go to this thread and go to some of these websites and search for the information you need and not depend on others to do it for you unless you are stuck in your searching and need help to continue.

there are also many other helpful threads on allnurses for students. you can access the student forums by clicking on the "students" tab at the top of any allnurses page that you are on.

can't help you since you've given no information about the patient's symptoms. a care plan is a problem solving method and is based upon the abnormal assessment information you obtained. in other words, the patient's symptoms. this assessment involves a physical exam, assessment of the patient's activities of daily living, and a review of their medical record. you've given no information with regard to this. i can't begin to know what this patient's problems are and a medical diagnosis isn't sufficient information. the nursing diagnoses are nothing more than labels (names) for the nursing problems we determine from the patient's abnormal assessment items.

there is lots of information about assessment and how to determine a nursing diagnosis on the student forums in the threads i've listed below. most of the wellness diagnoses have to do with teaching the patient more about their normal health, so you would need to have assessment information that indicates that the patient is already meeting their normal health needs and goals but is speaking a desire to learn more--that is a main criteria for using the wellness diagnoses. you would need to have supporting statements from the patient that they want to learn more about their wellness health, not their illness. until you supply me with more specific information, i can't give you much more help with this. good luck with your assignment.

Mass emailing allnurses for help, is not the way to go. (I received two) While always willing to lend a hand, much of what you need is already in this forum. Try doing a search here and also google. Good luck!
