1. find a good reputation nursing school in the philippines.( there are many of them, call them, email them whatever makes it easier and cheaper for you).

2. since you said you have first college degree, maybe you can be considered as a second courser in our mother country, you can talk to your chosen nursing school registrar about that, maybe you don't really need to take 4 years of nursing study. ( 3 will maybe? who knows).

3.you will actually go to nursing school: you will study hard, i mean hard, that you may not give your dear fiancee enough time for loving, loving, but if you have good time management, i guess you can:-) you will go to rle, do case studies, ncps,clean dodo, blah blah.

4. you need to have generous amount of $$$ so you can survive nursing school, although it's cheaper to study in pi, you need to spend money for books, tuitions, uniforms, books, pamasahe, and other school related fees.

5. after graduation: you can either take the local board, and get licensed in the philippines, or you can also go straight to nclex-rn, since there are some states in the us who don't require nle ( for your local pi license). after passing your nclex-rn, then you are officially licensed u.s. rn(hopefully your fiancee/husband already petitioned you).

6. then you need to come in the u.s.a. and find a job......sounds easy but...you got a long way to go.

addendum: associate degree in nursing is two years in the u.s. in the philippines, the standard is bsn which is 4 years ( that's a bachelors degree my friend). licensed practical nurse is about a year and a half i think, but why be an lpn when you can be a bsn?

if your from pinas, it is required to have bsn in order to get a u.s. visa ( that is you won't be having a problem because you have a dear fiance..) go take that bsn!

wow!!! thanks...that helps me a lot!!! im so happy i found this site...people here are so good and nice.helping eachother huh?hehe..anyways, im in seattle now. ya, im still trying to figure out if this state needs my local phil license??still searching what are the requirements for licensure as a registered nurse in seattle? hmmm.. oh so the 4 years course in phil is qualified/ equivalent as a registered nurse in the us huh? not a licensed practical nurse (lpn).cause theres a different between the two of them,right? and i think we dont have that in phil(lpn)? just the general 4 years course which that is the registered nurse???hmmm..right?

ya gosh, i should take the nursing course before huh? i know it take a lot of time ,money and effort but ya i'll try to make it all worth it.

the difference between an lpn and rn? lpn works under the care of an rn. lpn cannot do many stuff like rn does. for example, lpn cannot take m.d. orders, cannot do iv push, and many other stuff. ( the pay is less than an rn too).if you study bsn in the united states, you can apply for nclex-pn after you finished at least 3-4 semesters in the bsn program, if you pass your nclex-pn you are allowed to work as an lpn. if you are from the philippines who finished your bsn na, and you are in the usa na legally, you can also apply for nclex-pn and work. i know some people work as an lpn before becoming an rn. hope this will enlighten you :monkeydance: :monkeydance:

better if you took nursing in the us. if you stay in pi you or your husband can risk losing the green card. the nursing profession in so volitile, the philippine political scene is screwed up, you are taking such a big risk going back.

True your right....regarding with the green card,im taking the risk tho.Oh well, my husband just really want to spend time in Phil. U know, have a break from his work and try new things and explore?? oh well, I know the teaching skill in Phil is a lot different from here in US. And there are lots of Nursing graduates who doesnt have work and didnt pass the local board exam. But ya, I'll still want to give it a try. who knows?hehe.... Just try to find a good school then. The thing is, it is not easy to get into nursing schools here in the USA. There is a long waiting list to get into one. . One of my co-workers at the facility who is an RN here got her nursing degree in the Philippines. Since she was a green card holder at that time, she has to apply for a re-entry permit before she went back home to study.

So it is your decision to make.

Hi...I really need a help badly.Im sooo confused.

So here's the case.Im here in USA for a fiancee visa, but me and my husband are going back to Phil for me to take a nursing course. I need to know what are the different examinations to take right after i graduate in Phil ? Also do I need to take the board exams in Philippines?And if i dont take the board exams in Phil or whatever are the other test can I take a job here in USA?cause anytime i could come back here petitioned by my husband. Plus the board exams in Phil does really count here in USA??Does it needed?

Also I would like to highlight what are those examinations/test that I'll be taken to be a registered nurse?aside from the board exams in Philippines ???I've already called some hospitals here and they said that I need to take the state board exam which is NCLEX.but they cant say if I have to be a board passer way back to my country. so need help..hope someone could give me the Procedures and what are the right things to do ....???

acctually im a graduate of education major in Biology in MSU-IIt.Mindanao state of university. But i've talked to some of the staff in Cebu college they said, still I'll be taking the 4 years course of nursing even Im a second courser.But maybe some of my subject will be credited . So ya Im concern if I DO NOT take the local board exam inPhil well i get a job here in US? Also, I know that we only have 4 years nursing course in Phils right? unlike here we can study a nurse for just 2 years and then maybe got a job. So if graduate in Phil for 4 years course of nursing WILL I BE A REGISTERED NURSE HERE when i get a job in the hospital, considering i'll pass the Nclex???? Cause theres a difference between an LPN and RN .....but in Philippines there is only One the "4 years course"...so Is that a registered NUrse (RN)already here???

Since you are on fiancee visa, go and marry your fiancee first then apply for greencard ( probationary ). Congratulations ! If you go home to the Philippines and study nursing, take note that a greencard holder can only get out of US for less than a year otherwise your greencard will be revoked and you cannot enter the US again. Your husband, a US citizen can stay outside the US without limit and still a US citizen.

Enrolling in nursing shool both in US and Philippines is not easy due to some reputable school in PI is not accepting second coursers .Also US nursing schools are limited, I don't think you can be enrolled right away ( probably after two years ).

The best possible option for you is find an LPN reputable school in Philippines ( I believe we have one ) that offer eligibility for PN-NCLEX. If you pass PN NCLEX then you can already work as LPN in the US in just one year ! You do not need to take those english test or cgfns or local board exam in the Philippines. Don't forget that while you are studying in PI, go back to US after 6 months to break the one limit of your stay outside the US. Take note that you are already a greencard holder. What you need is just LPN course and PASS the PN-NCLEX. Make your life easier darling! After that, if you want to advance to RN , go and study ASN for another two years then pass RN- NCLEX. If you are a greencard and go out of US . Never ever spend 1 year or more outside the US . A reentry permit won't allow any greencard to stay for a year or beyond 1 year. If you need to extend your stay beyond 1 year outside the US, I believe there are legal ways but you need to seek a reputable immigration attorney to study your case of extension. It would be easier going back to US , spend some days then go back home again.

why in the world are you pushing for this LPN school in the Philippines????????? are you somehow connected to this LPN school in the philippines? let us NOT mislead other people please.....if you enrolled in that PN school, then fine, im very sorry for you......but I am warning other people that LPN's cannot be petitioned for greencard and are not eligible for H2B visas

again, LPN's are NOT eligible for H2B visas and are NOT eligible for greencard petition to the US......
