Maybe something about all the advances in diagnostics over the years. X-rays, CAT scans, ultrasounds, etc. Sounds like a hard topic to me. Hopefully something will inspire you. Good luck.

how about "let's not forget the patient"?

in this vastly technological age, we often depend on the equipment at hand and forget that it's a vulnerable human being we're addressing...you could research on how these technical interventions impact patient care. i've seen too many nurses depend on those darned oximeters, see a reading and either assume everything is fine or not...w/o assessing the patient themself. much luck to you.

what about the use of PDA's in the clinical area? How do people get around HIPPA rules? Security? What is the value of staff using PDA's? Risk of infection transmission? Do they really save time? How much does it cost to train staff to use them? Any good software? Would home health nurses find more use for them than hospital staff????
